Hi everyone! I'm new to the website and new to the concept of weddings! - I've never even been to one! - So I have no clue where to start!
Me and my fiance have been engaged for a month (been together forever - it's about time!), but not getting married until 2015 (gotta save those pennies first!).
So I'm not quite sure what I should really be doing or looking at.
I've seen some people have made scrapbooks/folders, which I think would be helpful, but what do these acutally include?
The most I know about weddings is you get married, you have a dinner and then you have a party! Oh and flowers and cake! AHH!
Any tips and advice would be great! - Do feel free to be as blunt as you want :D

Hiya.... Well this is the site to be, you will find almost everything you need to know here, i know i did. Id find a checklist and start to look at things that you like, i started off making a scrapbook of all the things i liked, dress, shoes flowers i wanted, colour schemes etc. bay of e is my new God lol, lots of bargains to be had. Even FB buy sell pages. I started planning my wedding only last Aug, Im getting married next August and i can honestly say things are starting to fall into place. Look up local shops that specialise in what you need. And remember ALL wedding dress designers make similar dresses to each other so if you see one you like and cant seem to afford it, its a possibility that there will be one of there alot cheaper, ex display or from a different designer. This is what i find out when looking for my dress back in Feb. If theres anything i remember i'll update you. Have fun <3

I do like the idea of a scrapbook - what kind of thing should I have in here? So far I've got -Wedding dress -Accessories -Flowers -Cake -Themes and thats about as far as I've got! I know I'm missing loads of things though!

Like Charlotte said theres a checklist on here and loads of bargains!! in mine ive got: wedding dress, Bridesmaid dresses FG (flowergirl) dresses Pageboy Ushers Colour schemes Flowers Shoes accessories (veil, stockings underwear etc) cake decorations Maybe wedding rings u like Presents for guests invites
Maybe get some Bridal Mags in i get 'Wedding Ideas' Mag for £3.20 Most are £5! But well worth it, i use them to cut things i like out.

Yeah just spotted the checklist, it's great to know people make our lives that little bit easier - rather than getting a wedding planner! Something for me to get stuck into for the new few years, pick bits and bobs I like.
Oh! Thats a good price for a bridal mag! I'll have to get a copy of it and get stuck in! Thanks for the advice <3

My mag has become a regular on my food shopping trips and nice after the supermarket stress to sit with a cuppa and flick through lol. I have loved every minute of the planing and getting to a point i can start making things like menus

Yeah im currently at the still paying the various deposits on things. But things are slowly coming together.
