We were thinking of having a postbox but im not sure where it is to be put. Does it need its own table or do u put it at the door? How much of a feature should it be?? and will people notice it and know what its for? Thanks
CommentAuthorkimmy
It can be as noticeable as you like !!!!! We are placing ours at the entrance in a secure place so our guests can see it :D

I'm having ours in the main room on a table with the guest book. That way we can keep an eye on it. I will personally be making sure everyone signs the guest book on the night as I think there is nothing worse than if people don't fill it in.

And i take it, it needs to be put out at the reception not at the ceremony? (id never heard of one til i came on here :))
CommentAuthorRachie :D
You take it to the reception.
Usually a venue will have a table set to one side for you so you can put your guest book out and people can put your prezzies on it.

We had ours on a table with the guest book just as you came in the door to the function room at the venue (see pic)
Although I have to say it wasnt really needed at my wedding as only one person used it, the rest of the cards the guests handed into reception as they contained money and no one wanted them to go astray.

Mine will be at the back of the room - I trust my guests but you never know if there's a stray hotel guest walking round!

I would just be aware of how secure your reception is in that not leave it near a door if it is a distance from where people are seated etc. Unfortunately there has been incidents of post boxes being stolen! I would definately remove it after the evening guests have arrived or move it to the end of a table where the oldies are sitting. Thats what we did at the engagement
