    Hey Ladies]

Have made the decision to get married abroad and only invite our parents and both our kids.. not telling siblings or extended family as don't want the stress and drama of it, its our wedding and i want a quite secluded and romantic affair with under 10 people in total.. question is WHERE TO GO, was thinking Malta as my H2B mum is from there but i also like spain.. and thought about Greece too... Our budget is pretty low and were gonna have a 2 week all inclusive holiday while there... so .. where did u go.. was it as described and how much did you end up paying?? =) xx

    The day dresms come true....

I can't help you with budgets but I did go to a wedding abroad last August. Their wedding was in Cyprus and it was lovely, saw lots of weddings while we were sunbathing too lol. Greece would be lovely too, seen a few weddings on here from there. To keep the costs down you could go a month or two before/after summer?

Portugal is really cheap to get married in. They have amazing hotels there with packages half the price of UK ones. My fiance is Portuguese and his sister got married there last year. She had 100 people at a sit down meal in a 5 star hotel looking over the sea, it was absolutely stunning, and it cost her less than 5 grand all included. Flights there are also pretty cheap. For something small and intimate you could definitely get some real luxury for not too much money :) Good luck!

If I was to get married abroad I would seriously consider Greece! Particularly Rhodes.

    Hiya

I'm thinking about Vegas - small wedding in an amazing place and then honeymoon in States / Caribbean after.
We've also been to Iceland and stumbled upon a lovely outdoor wedding there - so could be a posibility.
We are just throwing ideas up at the moment and we could still have a UK wedding. Anybody got any tips, ideas or thoughts?

Both Lala and I got married in Vegas and we both did it very differently. For me and my hubby, it was most definitely the right thing to do. I wasn't comfortable with the idea of having 80-odd sets of eyes on me and knew if we did it in the UK then a smaller ceremony just wouldn't be accepted. We had a fab time! We had 8 guests out there with us. The wedding was at 11am, we had lunch at the Top of the World restaurant in the Stratosphere and then we organised a sunset limo tour for everyone in the evening. Best day ever!

Malta is quite expensive and there's not a lot to do there as it's fairly quiet, unless that's what you want? When we book ppl there on holiday it is more over 50s that seem to go there...
I'd recommend Greece definitely ... Kalithea is beautiful xx

I'm sorry Kel, but I'd have to disagree with you! I went there with my mum and thought there was a lot to do. I loved it there and swimming in the blue lagoon was amazing :)

Maybe it's different areas then, in our shop it's all over 50s that go there and just to do bus tours lol we haven't sent anyone under 50 in a year and a half x

Little Kettle, I like the idea of it being just a small wedding, which I don't know if feels right in the UK. Just seen an option to get married in a chapel and then go have lunch on the floor of the Grand Canyon - feels much like champagne taste, lemonade budget to me tho!
More research required for Iceland weddings, does anyone have any useful links, agents or companies for this?

I love Kalithea.. OH and I went there a few years back and it was lovely. Close enough to go into Rhodes town and down to Lindos etc but lovely just to stay in Kalithea as well as there are a few bars and restaurants :) close to Faliraki as well if you wanted to go and party or go to the water park xx

GREECE! I got married in Lindos in Rhodes and it was just perfect. We had a ceremony at a gorgeous little chapel overlooking St Paul's Bay and then we had a champagne cruise for an hour and then our reception was at a taverna right on the beach, we had a beach BBQ - if I could change anything.. I wouldnt, it was perfect from start to finish xx
