Due to financial reasons as well as not being able to get enough time off work just before Christmas, we've decided to have a minimoon the weekend after our wedding. We can go away friday morning after dropping my lad at school and need to get back to pick him up on the Monday afternoon. He's not staying at school all weekend btw, his dad will be picking him up and staying there lol. we can't decide where to go. We love going down to London, but also love going up to Edinburgh. We just can't decided on either or somewhere completely different. Any ideas welcome as we want somewhere nice so don't mind spening a bit more than we normally would but likewise we don't want to be ripped off x

Have you checked out group on and living social? They have trips away and for our mini moon we got 3 nights in a 5* spa resort with half board and spa treatments in Marrakech for 289! We had to sort flights on top but they have UK breaks etc too so have a look...

Yeah they're really handy - the living social ones are on their site under 'escapes' and the group on ones are called 'getaways' - make sure you check the expiry date and conditions though in case some don't allow say a Saturday night etc :-)

Haha true! Only gamble is you might not get a lot of choice for that time of year until about 6 months before with regard to expiry dates, we saw our deal for June in January - but I suppose it'd open your eyes to a potential new destination when you see what deals there are!

What about Amsterdam? I've been a few times as and often cheaper to fly there than it is to get the train to London (from the northwest). It's a prettier and much more romantic city than London too! The flight is only 1hr45.

amsterdam is a very good idea. they do 2 for 1 deals there on the ferry from here in Hull so you get a night on the ferry going and a night coming back :) or humberside airport in only 15 mins away. thank you x
