    Hi all,
Me and h2b have almost definitely set our minds on getting married abroad and having a good old fashioned knees up at home for those who can't come (and those who want a second excuse to have a bit of a party!). Our first thoughts are going to Cuba - those gorgeous cars *drool*
Where/how do you get started? It's a bit overwhelming on G00gle! The one thing we have set our minds on is that we'd like to do it ourselves, or to use an independant planner, not a package with any travel agents - talk about making our lives difficult! lol
    Help!

my sisters best friend is a travel agent and she specialises in weddings abroad. when she talk about her work she says the main thing you have to do is source out what you need to obtain a marriage licence in the area you wanted to get married and a venue or registrar that would do it. and then take it from there. with the marriage packages a lot she deals with they are all inclusive on the price. normally you can find details on the sites of the town you want to go.

dont know if its a good start or anything but i hope that helped you. xxx

It might be worth going to speak to a travel agent first of all, even if you have no intention of booking it with them. We thought we knew exactly what we wanted...but then we spoke to an agent who gave us some other ideas. We didn't end up booking with them, but they certainly gave us some other things to think about that we ended up doing! It might just help narrow some of your ideas down a bit too.
Have an ask around your friends and friends friends to see if anyone can recommended people out there - stuff like limo companies, wedding planners, hair/make up and venues etc.
TBH, we found it more difficult with the blessing and party back home than we did with the Vegas organising!
Hope that helps a bit. We got married in Vegas, not Cuba, but happy to share our experiences further if you want - just ask away! Hx

Thank you ladies, we have been to a travel agents to ask a bit about getting married abroad (we were booking a holiday for this year at the time lol) but the girl wouldn't answer any of our questions, and neither would the second advisor she called over :/ all they kept saying was wait until the new prices come out :( ah well, back to the interwebs!
