We are still undecided. I've always wanted to visit Egypt for religious reasons being a patron of Osiris, but the Mister has already been before and he hated it. He basically explained how dangerous it can be and how when you walk out of your hotel/off your boat you just get hounded by people trying to stuff things into your pockets, or put hats on you and accuse you of stealing them, or pickpockets.
Our other ideas were:
Reykjavik (Since I know people from there and have always wanted to visit) Florida (The Mister loves Florida and Universal Studios) Route 66 Tour (Since we can't drive we'd do a coach tour Santorini (I love Greece, it's my home from home, so Santorini has always been a big deal for me) Rhine/Danube River Cruise Med Cruise (There's a great deal on for April of next year at Vision Cruise. 11 nights with Celebrity Cruise around places like Athens, Rome, Turkey.) Cadgewith Cove (Cornwall. Been there and it's gorgeous)

We decided to upgrade our seats on the plane to premium club seats. It's the same as buisness class but they can't call them that as the seats don't go into a bed but they recline quite a way back. We are so excited as we have never done this before and thought seeing as it's a special occasion then we might aswell go the shabang lol. Just got the confirmation email through

Yes do it! We see it as a once in a lifetime as there will be no need to do it again really and it's another special touch to the honeymoon. You get so much more and it's well worth the money. x

They told us the price can vary so we thought we'd book quick incase it went up. We are happy with that price seeing as it's for the both of us and what you get included. I can't wait to feel like a VIP lol :) x

We also paid a bit extra to select our seats which we can do 90 days prior to flying as most people pre book now so at least we are guaranteed to sit together x

I've fallen in love with a hotel in Corfu. Really tempted to book. We will prob need a loan lol. But a honeymoon was always something we decided on last minute as I'm really not sure if I'll be prepared to leave my lo for a week. Oh says he will be older then and it may not be as hard and he will have a ball getting spoilt by his grandparents. I still want to wait but don't wanna risk not getting that hotel!!!

They will be 5 and 12 at the time we go away. We also thought it wouldn't be much of a holiday if we took them with us. We also wouldn't be able to have all what we are having that we won't ever have again. Yes it may sound selfish but they will be coming on all other holidays with us so why shouldn't we have a proper honeymoon and have what we want. We are going to Mexico all inclusive for 11 nights. We have upgraded to a platinum Suite with loads of extras and also upgraded our seats on the plane. We are taking the laptop and as we have upgraded our room we get free wifi in the room so we can skype our boys and my parents :) x

Sounds amazing Katie. Your boys will be old enough so in sure they will be fine. I'm just panicking already lol we always said we would love Dominican Republic or Mexico as our honeymoon but I def wouldn't leave him did any longer than a week so would be little point going somewhere so far. We would have to fly to England 1st also. Oh said that too the hotel we are looking at is 5 star adults only somewhere we would never take LO so would be nice to relax and enjoy it all

We're thinking Madagascar for our honeymoon. We went travelling for 7 months last year, so we got to see a lot of places then, but we didn't go to Africa and Madagascar has been on my list for years. Just need to figure out if we want to book it as a tour of do it independently!

The first place we looked at was going to be too expensive but then we found the one we are going to and I think it helped that the dates had only just come out do we got a really good deal :)

Found out last night the hotel in Jamaica we have our eye on is available through Th0ms0n worldwide, but the flights generally don't become available until 11 months before. Th0m@s C00k supposedly fly to Jamaica but nothing is showing for 2016... V1rg1n also do it but no idea when their summer 2016 holidays are released!
But someone I know works for Th0ms0n and she said she would find out if anything is available for me today and let me know. Might do us good having that contact... upgrades and discounts?! ;)

Not sure, we've not thought about it toooo much at the moment as there are lots of ifs and buts. We will wait and see what the prices are like and then decide! This one is very luxurious and everything you would expect from a dream honeymoon, just not sure if it's unrealistic at the moment. We'll see! x

Just been tormenting myself looking at potential honeymoons again haha. The original hotel we liked in Jamaica is S3cr3ts W1ld 0rch1d, which we cannot get a price for in June 2016 at all, but I've just discovered that a hotel that Th0ms0n has (S3cr3ts St J@m3s) is linked to that hotel and they share all the same facilities, restaurants, pools etc... That one works out just under £3800 in total for 11 nights with a £500 deposit. Just don't know if it's doable as the final balance would need to be paid by 28th March :(
OH is also called James so I think it's fate! Haha.

That was my original thought but I think I'd feel so cheeky asking, especially considering my parents in particular are being soo generous already and OH's parents are chipping in where they can too. OH's dad has already offered us £1k to go towards our honeymoon but he doesn't have it yet, so who knows if he would have it saved by that time... I would have no idea how to approach the subject without feeling really spoilt and cheeky!?!
It might work out that with the £500 deposit already paid by us, and the £1000 from FIL, we could manage to pick the rest up ourselves and then top our account back up with any monetary gifts we get given at the wedding, BUT I just don't want to put so much financial pressure on us as I know I'll be worrying constantly about paying everything off at the same sort of time. I already feel a bit of a brat because we really want to go as soon as we can after the wedding - we're ideally looking at going on the Monday straight after, which is why we will put strain on ourselves financially. If we waited a couple of months it would probably be more manageable, but then I think it takes away the 'honeymoon' feeling a little and I just want everything to be exactly how we imagined :/ xx

That's not a bad price for Jamacia. I personally wouldn't ask for money in advance. We are thinking we may have to take out a small loan but hopefully we could pay it back pretty soon after the wedding with the money we get as gifts. If we go on honeymoon we will def need to. But we are just looking at Greece so no where near as expensive!

It might be worth waiting another few months to see if you could realistically save up more without putting too much pressure on yourselves. Even if you wait a few weeks after the wedding you will still be in the 'honeymoon phase' and it would mean you could probably get a cheaper deal and you will have the money that you get as gifts x

Again, there's no real reason why we HAVE to go to Jamaica, or so soon after the wedding, but I think I'd feel a bit gutted inside if we had to compromise on what we want. I feel so spoilt but I've always imagined my wedding and honeymoon to be a certain way and I really don't want to have to compromise! Am I a bad person?? Hahah.

The thing with waiting until after the wedding to book a last min deal is getting the time off work. The holidays at OH's work get booked off really quickly, especially in summer holiday season... and my work would need quite a bit of notice too. So it's either book in advance waaay before, or potentially wait a long time waaaay after the wedding lol! x

I am exactly the same! I have always thought a wedding had to mean you went on honeymoon the day or two after and I think I'd feel the same if we couldn't do that. Yeah I suppose it would be difficult with getting time off work, could you book 3 weeks off around the time of the wedding and try to go then? It would be a risk but it might be worth it x

Hmmm possibly. I think we'll wait until the year/ 11 month mark to seriously consider doing anything, as there should be a wider range of flights and holidays available then.
Or we could just look at going on a cheaper honeymoon knowing we could afford it and knowing we don't have to worry...

It probably is worth waiting as each company will be competing with each other on prices so you might get a good deal, although that is a good price so they might not budge much.
Even though Jamaica is your first choice maybe you could do that as a first anniversary holiday, once money is a lot more accessible? x

I think in my head I know we probably shouldn't do Jamaica (or this particular hotel, as there are cheaper hotels available) but both our hearts are set on it now. I think we will just wait it out and see what's available in a couple of months time and then make a decision. I feel like such a spoilt brat for wanting everything exactly how I want it, I know we're lucky to even be considering a honeymoon at all as lots of people can't! x

Mexico or Maldives.. so Mexico same sort of price and Maldives A LOT more expensive hahaha. We thought Jamaica would be good as it's somewhere neither of us have been before, whereas OH has been to Mexico already and I've been to the Maldives.
If we chose somewhere less 'luxurious' we would probably opt for Greece (although I know you can still find stunning hotels in those kinds of locations!) xx
