where do u even start when planning your wedding......?

Hello Emily and congrats!
It can be very daunting...I know I didn't have a clue where to start.
I suppose the first thing is to work out when you would like to get married, and the budget. Once you know how much you are able or wlling to spend, you can start looking at venues and thinks. There's a really helpful thread called 'a brides checklist' that gives a good starting point,
Happy planning!

Hi Emily, I think it depends when you want to get married. Start making a decision about the year then you can think about when you actually need to start planning.

Hiya, I got engaged last Christmas and started planning straight away for a wedding 18 months away, we chose the date 22nd June which was the most important thing for us as it meant a lot to us in different ways. I then checked to see if the church could accommodate us, then chose a venue. There was quite a few venues which were fully booked and some already had booking for 2015. My partner thought it was daft booking things 18 months in advance but after been told people had bookings for 2015 we booked everything. It is really fun and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have got 5 months to go with nothing left to do. Just enjoy!!x

Congratulations!
I felt the same when I got engaged, where do you even start! If you get bridal magazines some have planners and budgets inside to help you. It tells you what to do straight away, which is often setting the date and budget, and then breaks it down month by month. Magazines help with getting ideas, like colour schemes and table settings, most of mine are borrowed!
Remember to have fun :D

Congratulations, like the others start with the year and date and go from there!
There are some great threads on here to give you a hand in making sure you cover everything, but most importantly .... ....enjoy being engaged and planning your big day!!!! xxxx
