Me and my h2b haven't started planning yet, and probably won't do for ages, but it does cross my mind sometimes, then I think about what needs to be done and then I get overwhelmed - the only thing we've done is looked at a venue, we haven't even picked a date yet.

I think I just like to be organised and in control but even though it won't be happening for ages, I'd like to know - where did everyone begin when they started to plan? x

We already knew the date we wanted, which is our anniversary, then we set a realistic budget & an 'estimated' year, then calculated if it would be possible to save x amount of money each month until the big day. We chose to have 2 years to plan which is perfect for us. Then we viewed venues, confirmed the date with our chosen venue then went on to book everything from there :) xx

We done the same as Siany i have online banking and with my bank it have a savings calculator so we used that to help us estimate how much we would need to save also worked out how much we could live on each month but still have money "spare" incase we need anything urgantly we have managed to save enough for deposit for venue and registrar and now we dont need to pay anything off these big purchases until june 2014 ! so we are just going to save save save until next yr x

Hi Girls I'm new here and we're sort of in the same position going to pay the deposit in the next few weeks for next year!! its so exciting but daunting!! not sure where to begin or what to put deposits down for first

We set a budget then booked a venue, they were the main things... We made sure we picked a date that realistically we could afford to save for x
