Just wondered how long before your wedding should the honeymoon be booked?
Example im getting married in aug so when do i need to have it booked by? i keep seeing loads of posts of people booking their honeymoon and i still havent!!
We were actually hopin to have it booked in the new year!!

The day you leave? Book it when you find it. If you're looking for bargains it's generally better to book closer to the time. If want to ensure that you get everything you want without any compromises it's better to book far in advance. I wouldn't worry about it, you have plenty of time.

I would like to book mine asap but we both want different places so we are going to wait until after the wedding to see what we can find
Cant wait until I become Mrs K

We arranged ours 13 months before we wanted to go, as we wanted to get first dibs on the flights when they're released 12 months before - the more seats booked, the more the airfare goes up due to demand. That was to the Maldives though, if you're looking around Europe you might not need to book so far ahead?

It's a bit of a myth now that you get a cheaper deal booking last-minute; typically, you don't any more.
I find the cheapest time to book a summer trip is either a year before, or else just after Christmas. If you want to fly with a budget airline, you're best to book as soon as the flights are released, as the cheaper seats go quickly, esp peak season.
I also like booking early as you can pay it off month by month.
We are asking our guests for money towards a honeymoon. Were getting married in June but will prob go on our honeymoon oct/nov time as its usually cheaper and you get more for your money :) x

because we're going long haul (USA) we're booking this month as the airfayre gets more expensive as flights book up - theyre flying regardless so as the seats fill up the desirability does as well hence pushing up the price. if you're flying charter then book 11 months in advance as thats when they are released.
if you're going short haul then you can wait longer as the nearer it gets the cheaper the seats on planes become x

Don't worry there's no proper time to book the honeymoon! Many don't even book it till after the wedding! I booked mine about 5 months before the wedding because we got give the deposit to pay it! xx

we usually book our holidays a year in advance to give us enough time to pay! But we booked our honeymoon in july, 10 months before we get married, only because my dad is paying haha otherwise would have had to book it about 2 years in advance lol! Anyway I think the best time to book is after Christmas when they are doing special deals :-) x I also agree with using trip advisor but not to take every comment seriously! x

We're going to Hawaii, getting married 7 months today (yay!) and hoping to book our honeymoon very soon once the last hotel has released it's rates for the new financial year. xx

January sales are a great time to book holidays and so honeymoons will probably be same

We booked ours as soon as the August prices were online but only because we'd already decided where we wanted to go and had been looking from before we could book (so eager lol). We also wanted to book our seats on the plane so got in as quick as we could.
