I was thinking about sending save the dates in March/April 2012 and then Invites towards the end of the year. We're getting married in August 2013, does this sound reasonable??
My MIL said that March/April for save the dates is too early :/

It's not too early - especially if guests have to arrange accommodation as well. We got married in August this year, and sent ours out about 16 months in advance. It gave guests time to sort out hotels etc and also plenty of notice to book time off work if they needed to (and in our case, to sort out transport as we got married at Gretna).

I have folk coming from all over the place! We were going to send hotel information with the invitations but atleast with save the dates people know and can start arranging? xxx

i dont think its to early I have just sent out my save the date cards and i am not getting married until febuary the 23rd 2013. But i thought this gives everyone plenty of time to book time off etc as some are at the other side of the world. i think i will send out invitations about october time as we have 2 family weddings in august and september first. x
25th of july 2015 i marry my soulmate:) x

So glad I came on this post, I have been wondering the same thing as I am getting married sept 2013. Was worrying that april was too early, but now I think this will be better as we are hoping to get married on a wednesday. x
