im june 2013 iv been looking on comp but not going to try dresses to see what style suits me till june 2012 want to try and lose a bit of weight first :-)

I was thinking about going in for my appointment in Aug 2012 as my wedding is August 2013 .. 12 months should be plenty of time??

I would look now just because im having problems deciding between my fave 2 lol. I am going into every wedding dress shop i can find nearby and trying evry single dress that i like.but i agree with eco,iif ur decisive its easy but im also very undecisive lol x

I asked at a shop and she said at about this time next year

see i am glad there is this thread because i am really unsure when to go dress shopping as i have 14 months till i get married but i am doing all wedding plan on my own so not sure about when to do things lol! x

I WAS intending to wait to go dress shopping until Feb as I'm not getting married until Aril 2013, but MIL2B wanted to go shopping over the August bank holiday so that was my first shopping experience, and I loved it! I tried to abstain but have been to 2 more shops with my bridesmaids!

I really really am going to wait until the new year now though, honest!

I must be leaving it really late. Im getting wed Sep 2012 and i haven't even started looking yet. I live in Cornwall and my Mum is in Scotland and i really want her with me when i choose so i have been holding off till she comes down. She should hopefully be down in January and then i can get the ball rolling x

Its a dress by Busy B's Bridals in Grantham. Theres a pic of it on my profile. It will be in diamond white satin with a teal satin band in the middle. The ladies tehre are absolutely amazing! They never discontinue any of their designs and all of the dresses are made to measure so will fit my mix n match shape perfectly. For a made to measure dress that I can get in specific way and my dress is less than £700 :) xx

I was amazed by the prices of all their dresses to be honest. Especially when they had a couple of brand collections there to buy off the peg or ordered in and altered for the same price as they wanted to make one to my size.

Its really strange how different our shape is in real life compared to our mental imnages of ourselves when it comes to dresses. Its not like there isnt enough time left til our big days is it lol.
I like the Sophia Tolli Luna dress in your pictures especially if your wearing the coat in your pictures with it. Not sure the Maggie Sottero dress will go with the coat because of the detail in the skirt. All really nice dresses though. Im sure one of them will be 'the one' because they are all a bit different in their styles xx

No probs :) Not got anything else sorted yet. Shoes are a nightmare for me!! Im a size 7 wide fit and hate pointed shoes that squash my toes and peep toe shoes as my feet ar always freezing and we're getting married in October so not the best ime of year for someone who's constantly cold :/

With dying it works better with natural fabrics rather than man made fabrics so it depends on what fabric the One is made out of if you wanted to use it again, but if dying it is not suitable then you could get loads of embellishments to put on to make it unique and you could use old brooch's and pins that could be changeable for different occasions? Just a thought. Do you have anything of your outfit yet? Xx

I am having my dress made by a local shop that specialise in making wedding dresses, looked around loads of shops and could'nt see anything I liked all looked the same, I dont like the strappless look. I have designed it myself with the help of the lady in the shop and its cheaper than one off the peg surprisingly.

Im getting married sept 2013 and have already found my dress but not even decided where we are getting married too. Going round venues at the beginning of january but I am soo excited about getting married started looking for my wedding dress the evening we got engaged while my bloke was on the ps3, lol! Most prob doesnt help that my best mate/maid of honour is totally syked about my wedding! : ) Hope you find the one that gives you flutterbys. xx

I tried on my actual dress today for the first time! I ordered it back in April and it arrived this month. Was soooo good and i love it soooo much! I want the wedding to be now! It needs a bit of altering as had to order a big size to fit my hips comfortably.

For those who think a certain dress may not suit their height/shape then go see a decent shop. I am 5ft tall with tiny waist but hips a size bigger. I have got a fishtail dress that has been made to my dimentions so looks perfect. I was measured properly so the fishtail bit sits in the right place.

ive been told to go for a laceup back so it doesnt matter if you lose a bit or gain a bit of weight before the big day. advice i will be heeding!! :D

we know the owner so we had a little party and tried dresses on! :D

I'm doing the same cupcake_katie - ordering 12 months before and it'll take 5months to arrive apparently which gives time for alteration :D
