you should send save the date invites 12 months b4 and then actual invites about 4 months before day

we sent our january and got married in july, but we found a lot of people either lost them or forgot the date and time, so i would say 4 months before xx

We sent ours out at the begininning of april, and still haven't received all the RSVP's!!! We're getting married September 17th x

We're thinking of sending the save the dates out with the Christmas cards this year so will be 11 months before. The actual invites we'll be sending out June (5 months before)with an RSVP cut off date 30th September for our wedding at end of november x
i sent my std 16 months b4 ( cos people can book holidays 12 months b4 ) then sendin invites 5-6 months

We sent out our save the date's about 15 to 16 months before the wedding (as it gave guests time to book transport and accommodation as we're getting married away from home) - then we sent out the invites around 6 months before (so that we could finalise numbers etc when we visited the venue 3 months before the wedding).

I would agree with about 4 months, with a final rsvp date 2 months before so you can finalise things with caterers etc and hav time 2 chase the annoying missing ones :)
