Hi when do we send out save the dates? We get married mid-september, I'm thinking 12 months in advance but my OH thinks 6 months.

We are sending ours out a year before the wedding. Formal invites will be sent out 6 months before the wedding x

We sent ours 8 months before as we sent our magnets with Christmas cards to save money lol
Think the norm is about 9-12 months before or 12 month if busy time eg over Christmas or summer hols x

For very distant friends/ relatives (I mean like in Australia) we've sent them already - about 16 months ahead. Everyone else, we're in the process of doing... slowly... so between 15 months to a year away!! xxxx

I shall go with my gut and go for 9 months, as people will start settling down after the summer holidays etc. Plus I might do what you did and send with with the christmas cards!! hehe Thank you!
I'm not sending save the dates but I am sending my invites out 5 months ahead......
I'm actually going with the attitude of the important people know and will be attending anyone else is an added bonus. It sounds really harsh and I don't mean it too but that's just how I think x

We have opted for an evening wedding that way we skip wedding breakfast and can have everybody attend the ceremony, Id like as many people to come as possible, if I send save the dates they'll get the message that we want them there, so no excuses for no turning up. LOL. I sound so mean, it sounded nicer in my head.

Send them out as soon as it's booked. Ours went out 14 months before the big day.

After commenting on this yesterday, I have actually thought about it and I think I may actually send some out lol.....
I can get 50 for £15 from the bay of E and they are magnets and fit our theme perfectly. It wouldn't do any harm xx

We never bothered with save the dates, but we would have sent them out 12-18 months in advance, with invitations being sent out 5 months in advance xx
