    Hi Ladies,

We get married in May 2013, We are not doing Save the date. So I was wondering when do I send out the invites. My initial thoughts are early Jan 2013. Does that sound ok? When would you send them?
Thanks in advance for your help....AGAIN....lol

We have to give our venue notice of exact numbers and what meals our guests want 8 weeks before our wedding, we are getting married May 2013 too, we were going to do invites end of Nov/ start of Dec as a lot of family members need quite a bit of time to give notice to work and we want to get all our replies back in plenty of time to get everything sorted :-)

I didn't do save the date cards as we told people our wedding date when we told them we were engaged. sent out day time guest invites start of may (4 & 1/2 months in advance of W date) and last week started sending out evening guests invites (about 2 months before W date).

I'm getting married in October and I sent my invites out in January lol but everyone's able to make it which is great as we are getting married on a Friday! BUt I think if you're not doing save the dates then earlier rather than later is best as like you say, people book holidays! X

I get married in April 2013 and i am sending my invited out end of October. With it being on a Friday and a lot of my family have to travel down fro Yorkshire i thought it best to give them plenty of time to sort travel arrangements/hotels etc. xx

Hey, I'm getting married may 2013 too. We're planning in sending invites in early november. We wanted to give people lots of notice as its on a Thursday, we are also worrie that if we sent them in December they would get misplaced with Christmas cards. We're not doing save the dates either. Hoping 6 months will be enough notice for people.

When are the summer holidays they don't start in may do they? Xxxx

we sent ours out the first weekend in march to give people plenty of time with an RSVP date of 30th June we still haven't had all the replies back so we have asked for them all to be in by 1st August those who haven't sent them back have been told they will not be catered for (technically a lie but we are trying to trick them into sending them back)

We are getting married July 2013, we are sending STD in aug/beg of sept and invites wit christmas cards, cut down on stamps as they are so expensive. We are sending STD later then planned due to me having new job and OH on placement but we are sending them out as people start thinking about hols for the following yr after they have come back from this yr. Plus we are going to hand deliver them as many as possible. I would rather give people plenty of time to book hotels/save/time off. Plus it gives us a time to chase up any who don''t RSVP.

We marry in March 2013 and I've sent save the dates out already. Invites will be sent around November to give people plenty time as I want the RSVP by end Jan so if some people decline I have time to fill their space. We have a max number of 75 day guests and a massive list of people we could invite.
