March isn't really a popular time to go on holiday or anything, but I'm not sure when to send the invites out. I was thinking October - because I don't want to send them too close to christmas because they'll get buried under all the christmas cards and post, and didn't really want to leave it until January as I thought that's a bit late. Do you think October or perhaps early November would be okay?

I would suggest sending them with xmas cards to save postage, but then as you said they could get burries under xmas cards :/

Excellent question! I'm getting married in March as well and can't decide whether to send the invites in November, with Christmas cards or in January!

Are you doing save the dates? I'd send them out ASAP then people will be aware of the date and then you can send the invites when you like xx

Send out your STD's now. I'd suggest sending out invites in November, just before the Christmas rush and in enough time for people to organise themselves, although hopefully the STD's will have done the job.
My sister had an early April wedding and sent her invites out in the new year (they were printed in December), so if you did November you should be fine xx

We're not bothering with save the dates. It's just extra money and I think they're a little unnecessary for a March wedding. Think we'll send them early November then, hopefully that'll be fine :)

Thing I worry about with November is people might forget to RSVP with Christmas on coming.

Send out your STD's electronically, I emailed all of mine and H2B just FB'd everyone, those who don't have e-mail/fb (the much older generation) we just phoned them or sent text messages.
Most people remember to RSVP and you can delegate the chasing up of RSVP's to your family.

Do you think January would not be too late for a March wedding? I thought they're supposed to go out 4-5 months before xx

I'm getting married beginning of Jan next year and I'm sending mine out the end of august, giving my guest's time to organise there travel arrangements and allows me too book hotel rooms, as i have to confirm them 3 months before x

We are also getting married at the start of January Elliekitty! We are sending ours out end of July/beginning of august as we have to confirm numbers quite early too and I have some friends on a 'reserve' list so we really want rsvp's back as soon as possible and I think the first weekend in January is a bit of an odd time for people. Lulularoo I would personally send them out at the start of November. I was going to say go and buy your stamps now but the prices went up today :( I went and stocked up on 80 stamps last week before the prices went up this week, they are going up by something like 20p per stamp!!!! crazy!
CommentAuthorsprucey83
Be careful with the stamp issue as i read somewhere that they will have 'use by date' if you will, that they won't be valid after a certain time and the receiver will have to pay the postage difference. I could be wrong though.. xx

I checked with the post office and they said it was fine, they were more bothered about me getting the right stamps for the size of invites I have, and people were buying up stamps for Christmas! So its all fine and everywhere was suggesting buying up stamps if you had a special occasion (i.e a wedding!) or have lots of Christmas cards to send out!
