I know we have to give notice of marriage from 12 months before, my question is do we have to do it exactly 12 months before or can we do it at a later date before the wedding as getting my H2B to get time of lately is really hard as he's just been promoted! And he works most Saturday's too xx TIA xx

You can do it within the 12 month window as long as you do it at least 28 days before the wedding.

U may have to give notice sooner depending on venue. Once i booked the registry office they said i had to give notice with 2 months of paying the deposit or they cancel the booking and u would have to pay again if you did want the date. Not sure if other registrys are like this. If its a religious ceremony you can do it anytime in that 12 months but at least 28days before the wedding

Our registry office was the same as Anika's, they would only provisionally hold the booking for 2 months and we had to give notice to confirm and make it a definite booking xx

I already paid deposit to book the date last September, they didn't mention that I would have to give notice within 2 months, they just said I have to do it 12 months before wedding date? but as I'm getting married in a different county do I have to give notice in both or just my home town one I'm getting confused now?? Xx

I think it may differ from council to council hon, did you get any written confirmation of your booking? It might have more details on that. You only have to give notice in your home town, though there will be an additional form to pass on to the registrars office where you are marrying (they just referred to it as a blue form when we were giving notice lol) xx
