    Hi,

We have booked a fab photographer who also, like many, provides a free, pre-wedding/engagement shoot. We are past the engagement shoot methinks (over 6 months ago!). We are getting married in 6 months and so I just wondered when we would be doing the pre-wedding shoot? Is it something that you told your phootgrapher when you wanted it or did you just wait for them to contact you and suggest a time/place? Not quite sure what the etiquette is! Thanks ladies x

We got one inc with ours and we've been wondering the same thing! but think depends on photographer really! some people on here have had theirs with 2 / 3 years to go & some have with few months. think mine said its around 6-8 weeks before the big day.
or im guessing its personal preference, you can always contact your photographer and ask to have it or enquire about when to!
as for time/place/location no idea, wondering the same myself!
sometimes they can do it at the venue grounds, a park close to you, in your own home, their studio, anywhere im guessing! xx

We got in touch with our photographer and asked when he would be free to do it and if he knew anywhere nice. We had ours on the 28th December 2012 but got engaged 2 years before that! And wont be getting married for another year and a half, but you can have them anytime. The only reason we had it was because it was free and we thought we could get some nice photos from it (we got a disc with all the edited images for free). It was a bit of an eye opener for the day too, some things he asked us to do felt really silly but look great on the photos xxx

Excellent... I'm not a big fan of the snow so wont be rushing there!! Im quite keen on getting pics at my Dads farm as he will be retiring soon and leaving it and it holds all my childhood memories. Plus it does help that the scenary is amazing.... (Think top of a hill, overlooking a valley) Now just to convince him to plant some pretty crops or get him to leave one of the meadows, instead of practical stuff like corn that might earn him money!! x

I get married 2015 and we have already had an engagement shoot (thanks to ukb hehehe)
The photographer we are looking at has one included in her package so we are calling it a "getting to know you" shoot rather then an engagement one after all we will have been engaged 5 years by then ;-)

As for when we going to have it we want a totally different look to our wedding photos which is in November in a converted barn so loads of fields open space etc so the getting to know you shoot will be at magic hour (sunset) at a stunning location near a lake in August!
