well now me and hubby are married we have discussed when to try for a baby ... we are only going to try for one year and if i misscarry again then we call it a day but ive know from day one hubby wants a baby and ive decided over the past couple of mths that i will try for a year and he agrees and if we misscarry then we stop. ~( i have had 14 misscarriages in total and all up to generally 21 weeks so massive decision for me to try again as i dont want the heart ache)
so weve decided that we will start trying in sept because by then we will have a clearer picture of his job and where in the world we will be living and hopefully it will all sorted out by then and if were moving to his new job then we would have moved etc
so because i have the mirena coil when do i take it out do i do it now (obviously not today but say nextweek) or do i wait till sept baring n mind we are only allowing for a year of trying
gonna start taking folic acid and all other prenatal vits and stuff to be in optimal health now as only3 mths till sept and cut down on the drink and give up the smoking giving us a better chance of concieving come sept
just stuck on when to get the coiout

Hun, congrats on the wedding :-) Sorry to hear about your losses :-( I too have the mirena coil, I went for my check at the begining on May (its been in 2yrs) they couldnt find it and we want to TTC after the wedding. I had a scan last week and its where it should be but it has left h2b and I wondering what to do, do we take it out now and use other contraception or do we wait until next year and possibly have to wait to have it removed at the hospital if they cant find it again. With you being so up in the air about work etc, I would wait till Sept but then you could have it out and use other contraception.........loads of help Ive been lol What ever you decide, I wish you every luck hun xxxxx

haha cheers huni ... oh hubby has a job and everything so were all set etc, it just hes been offered a fantatsic opertunity and promotion for a job in newcastle we find out the end of the mth if hes gonna take it and if he does means a move to newcastle for sept to start my son in a school for sept for yr 6 ! thats why he said start trying in sept ... as if we do move we will be moved etc but if he desnt take it then weve had a few mths to get ready etc i know that the coil can and has stopped my periods altough the last time i had it out they returned nastily for 2 mths it was awful so it went straight back in ... i only had it in to regulate my periods ...
oh god bet that was nerve wracking wondering where the heck it was...gosh i dunno what id do if i was you id prob have it removed now tbh
dunno might just get it took out at the end of the mth when we know either way what were doing and not use anything just see if my periods regulate and go back to normal... if i by some some miracle get caught before it ain the end of the world ..... thanks for the luck good look to you also for after the wedding ! xx

hi croc...im so sorry for your losses. i have had one and i really dont know if i could cope with another one so understand when you say that. you are very brave to try for a baby!
i had the mirena in the past and it took about 6 or 7 weeks for me to even get a period after! and then after that my cycle was never regular. one month it was 44 days, then 42, then 37, then 35 and then stayed around 35 days but never exact time!
if i were you i would have it out at the first possible opportunity! it can take time for your periods to return to normal. do you have an iphone? if you do there is a fab app called period tracker and cost about £1.79 but it is so good.
you track your periods, the length they last, how heavy, any syptoms you get and once it has 3 months data it will work out the average length of your cycle and it will tell you when you ovulate and are fertile!
you can also sync it your husbands iphone if he has one so he knows when you are ovulating etc.
anyway...back to the coil. get it taken out asap to give your body time to get back to normal. you may bleed/spot a little when it is taken out and then your period will arrive within a couple of months probably. xx

Hi Croc, Sorry to hear about your loss *hugs*.
I had the mirena coil out on 24th October 201 and we are still trying with no luck. Back at the docs every 1-2 months who says its different for every woman. My periods are back and not regular at all.
I bought some fertility test sticks (urine ones) which you can get on the bay which i do every week or so (although apparently I am never fertile :o( ). The doctor can also do tests etc to check hormones etc.
I would defo get it taken out sooner rather than later.
Hope you'll keep us posted hun and good luck.
xx

croc id have it took out as soon as but id also ask to be refered to a specialist so they can maybe discuss running tests to see if there is a reason for your miscarrages, then if there is maybe they can give u medication to help stop u from it happening again.
example my step sis had 3 and after her third they did tests and found out it was something as simple as her blood not forming correctly or something so when she got pregnant again all she had to do was take 1 asprin a day and she is now due in about 7 weeks with a baby girl :-)
so look into thing's hun.also havin it out now will give your body time to change from havin the coil fitted.
i wish u all the best and i hope u have a fantastic safe healthy happy sucesfull pregnancy and a beautiful baby at the end of it :-) good luck and cant wait to hear your "good positive" news ;-)

Sorry for all your losses, must of been awful for you. I have a friend who has two children but has also suffered well over 10 losses, it was discovered last year that she has a blood disorder which I think was attacking the pregnancies, she was advised to take asprin daily to thin her blood. I dont know if you have had any testing to see why it keeps happening to you, but might be worth a chat with your doctor.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do x

right i will get it out asap, think ill go to liverpool to get it taken out where i had it put in trust them and she didnt hurt when she did it lol plus they are open every week day too bonus.
yep i do know why i have misscarriages frequently i have a heart shaped womb basically means if an egg implants on the smaller side , after a certain amount of time it becomes to small and i misscarry, had lots of tests and was watched carefully but just misscarried and then gave up trying . the only reason they found out was because i went for a coil and it shifted after a few weeks so they inserted another and it measured different lengths by a few mm so had an ultra sound and they could just see it ! theres not alot they can do its basically a lottery on which side it implants . last time i had a misscarriage was about 6 yrs ago so im hopeing that ive had my fair share and someone higher up will be on my side.... as it may sound silly but i gave up after constant misscarriages as i got used to them and everytime i fell preganant i never got excited cos i just knew it wouldnt last yet i did everything to look after my self, i just switched off and became unemotional.
so fingers crossed with a 3 mth break of no hormones and coils, an I phone app (thanks mrs b will make sure hubby has that too haha) some urine sticks to test when im fertile and any other gadget (without loosing the romance of baby making) a healthy diet, no drinking, no smoking, lots of fruit and veg and exercise and some prenatal vitamins- (over the age of 30 you see gotta make sure im healthy as hell ) we will have some good news,
may sound silly but if i do fall pregnant in the next yr i have a good feeling in my stomach that it will all be perfect and nothing will go wrong, because me and hubby and my son are already the perfect family and a new one would be the icing on the cake and i know its one thing hubby would love more than anything... i guess i just no if it happens then everything will be alright
but anyways fingers and toes crossed and will let u know in the near future of any news !! (this is where i take it out next week and pregant the week after lol) xxxx

i know best things are to do all the above what you have said, but sometimes changing and automatically stopping can make your body reject cause its alien from what its used to, my friend had 2 miscarrages and both times she stopped smoking drinking etc then the third time she carried on as normal and had a sucsesfull pregnancy admitedly he was early and small but sucsessfull, and fourth again sucsesfull and carried on as normal. i guess its a lottery and u never know what to do for te best.
i didnt drink or smoke or binge eat with my first and she was the smallest of the 3 and the only one to be born with a genetic disorder we was unaware of we both was carriers off. my second i drank occasionally wih but never got drunk and he was born bigger healthy and only small prob he has is excema. my third i drank alot with and was drunk twice (yes i know before u all jump down my throat) and i smoked occasionally, but he was born the biggest and healthyist and has no problems, admitedly we had a scary few seconds when he was born but that was due to him been stuck and nothing more. so it just goes to show.

Croc, I'm sorry about all your losses, and sorry if someone has already mentioned something about this - I just skipped through. I know someone who had a very similar story to yours - I think she had 12 or so miscarriages, but then for her last pregnancy, she was put on a drug that basically acts like a glue (I can't remember the details, sorry). It's meant to keep the embryo attatched to the uterus wall to give it a fighting chance in the first 12 weeks. Anyway it worked, and she now has a little boy the same age as my daughter! I don't know if it's worth mentioning to your GP or something. Also, avoid diet coke like the plage, there has been a huge link between it and miscarriage. Good luck hun, I hope you succeed soon! xxx

princessnat1977 - I had my mirena coil out on 24th October 2011... still no fertility. Doc has been doing hormone tests from blood tests and still nothing. She wants to put me on hormone tablets which will make me gain weight (I really don't need any help with that). I'm in a pickle as I thought having the coil out then would give me time for a baby and then time to lose weight for the wedding but it just aint happened. Baby is on the back burner until doc can work out whats up.
