How long before the wedding is best to order the bridesmaid dresses?
We've realised we are crap at saving having spent almost 2k of our wedding savings decorating the house & doing up the garden, so want to order things as soon as we have the money!!
So far we've paid in full venue, cars, flowers, venue dresser, centre pieces, invites, rings & have the money ready to book our photographer.

I think I'd like to get my bridesmaids dresses sorted around 6-8 months before the wedding xx

If you want to get them through a bridal store then 6-9 months is best. If you're buying them off the peg you could leave it later. It might depend on your colour scheme in that case, as different colours are popular in different seasons. You could check with some high street stores as to when particular colours are popular.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'm getting mine from a bridal shop and ordered them on 12th July. They said they should be ready in November, then can get fittings and alterations sorted with plenty of time (getting married May 2015). We found what we wanted and saw no harm in ordering tthem early, better safe then sorry but if your going for high street you could leave for later but be careful with colour as the ladies have said, colors go in and out of fashion.

I'm planning on getting the bridesmaids dresses from 'she who can't be named' so will need to allow enough to to make & ship them.
I have to buy 4 bridesmaids & 1 flower girl dress so assumed bridal shops will be out of my budget, do you mind telling me how much your bridal store dresses have cost?

We are going in 2 weeks to a shop that is called just bridesmaids. I went in and looked round, surprisingly they do well known names etc for about the same as she who can not be named, but it's local (ish) to me.

Flower girl dresses were stunning too and cheaper, and better quality then the bhs ones!

Mine were £166.50 each, I got 10% discount on them as I got my brides dress from them. I'm only having 2 BMs but managed to come under my budget for them so have wiggle room with money for alterations. They are beautiful dresses and really compliment mine in style, plus both BMs loved them and suited both their shapes.
