It all depends on what sweets you're having. But if they're packaged well and they've a good sell by date on them there's no harm in getting them early and popping them away somewhere to sort your favours a bit nearer the time :) just don't be tempted to eat any of them lol ;) x

I think it depends on the sweets. If they're individually wrapped then it won't be a problem. It will be fine it you're buying them in the tubs too. It will only be a problem if you are buying them bagged, as they're not air tight.

We're probably going to get ours about 6-8 weeks before the wedding.

i have bought our sweets for the sweet buffet as they have long dates on until 2013, i didn't want to leave it so late that i would have been running around like a headless chicken so i bought them this weekend as i have somewhere cool to keep them over the summer.

Its completely up to you you could leave it until the weekend before and then make the favours up during the week before you get married, everyone is different and do things in different ways

We bought ours about 2 months before, as we were making sweet trees as centrepieces - started making the trees abot 4 weeks before and wrapped them all up in clingfilm for air tight and foil for shade - guests were eating away merrily so I think they tasted fine!
