    Hi Everyone,

I'm a little worried, i've not yet sent our invites out, we are getting married on 19th July (its a Friday). We didnt send save the date cards either and now my other half is getting on at me to get them sent out.

When is the best time to get them out? Also, how long should we give people to RSVP?

Send them ASAP, it's normally 6months ish til the wedding u send them, I'd ask ur venue when they want final numbers by then just bring that forward for ur guests by two weeks so then it gives u two weeks to chase up the ones u haven't got before u need to let ur venue know definite numbers x

I would ask people to rsvp sooner rather than later... I think 3 to 4 weeks is plenty of time for someone to decide what they're doing. If you leave it too close to the wedding to chase non-replyers up, then you're creating more stress for yourself too close to the day. Plus, what if some go missing in the post? If people only realise they've been invited when you're chasing them up *just* before the wedding, it may be too late for them to make plans and attend xx

But send the invites soon, especially if people need to book time off work

We got married the 6 October, I sent the invites out the end of April and gave until the 15 July to reply back to us. That way if some did not reply then I had time to chase them up before the venue wanted final figures.

STD's should be sent out asap, I'd say as soon as you set the date and book the venue.
Invites can go out 12 to 15 weeks before the big day. I'm getting married on the 11th May and my invitations only went in the post box on Sunday just gone so with 13 weeks to go, given guests a deadline of 30th march to rsvp by. xxx

We're getting married end of May and haven't sent the invites yet. looking at sending them end of feb, then RSVP for end of March, then can spend 2 weeks chasing up in april ready for final meeting at end of april! xx

People who were coming to the day got lots of notice! But our invites for the day went out around Xmas/new year, and by the 11 week deadline most of our invites we're out. I have put RSVP by 1st march, 5 weeks before the wedding but my chef doesn't need final numbers til 2 weeks before when he needs 75% of the final cost.

you should get them sent out soon so people have plenty of time to plan and arrange things. I would say anytime between 4-6 months before the wedding is acceptable xx

Depends on your guests, I have guests that had to give their employers notive of what holiday they wanted at the start of the year so I already sent most of my day invites out! But if you have guets with less rigid employers then I'm sure they can work something out to get it off!

we sent our 'all day guests' their invites about 8 months before the wedding date and the evening guests are now getting sent theirs, 3 months before wedding. OH is getting on at YOU to send them out??? He could help you! Me and my wtb made our own invitations, we agreed on the contents/wording etc, I designed them, printed them out and then we sat and made them together! xx

We're sending ours out the end of May for our wedding on 1st November with a R.S.V.P date 3 months before so that if we do have any guests who can't make it then we can invite other friends who we can't invite at the moment because of the size of our venues

We will be sending ours out about 5/6 months before and giving people people until 3 months before if anyone doesn't reply Ive told OH we won't be chasing them up.
The RSVP date will final. If they can't be bothered to tick yes/no on a card and retun it within 3 months then it's their own fault.

Oh thank you for this. It's made me realise that I too need to send out the beginning of may. As we get married Sunday 27 October 2013. I like how others have mentioned rsvp's in just short of three months later to have numbers etc :) thanks for the advice!
