I've got 6 weeks to go - does any one know when I have to start notifying people of my name change for bills etc?

My Sister got married in June and my friend in July, they both waited until after their honeymoons and got passport driving licence, bills etc all done afterwards. Unless your honeymoon flight tickets are booked under your new name in which case you will need to start changing stuff asap.
Debenhams also sell a change your name kit i think its like £9.99 to help people make sure they get everything changed.

The only thing you can change before is the passport. Everything else requires wedding certificate.

I wonder as well as I am French, and it will be a longer process for me to change it, my h2b is going to change is name with deed poll end of the month (personal reasons) and I actually wonder if I don't want to do that as well so I would have plenty of time to change my passport and everything beforehand.

"IPS can change the name on your passport up to three months before the ceremony. They will cancel your old passport and issue you a new one. But the new passport is 'postdated'. This means you cannot use it before the day of the ceremony. Some countries will not issue visas for postdated passports. You should check with the consulate of the country concerned.

If you decide to amend your passport before the ceremony
To amend your passport before the ceremony, you need form (PD2) and leaflet (PD1) 'Passports for Newly Weds and Civil Partners'. These documents explain what you need to do - you can get them:

by downloading them as PDF files
from Post Office branches that offer the Check & Send service
    from any Regional Passport Office
by calling the IPS Passport Adviceline 0300 222 0000 to get them sent out to you
The form should be completed partly by you and partly by the person who is to conduct the ceremony. The leaflet explains this in more detail."

From the Identity & Passport Service website

The changing name thing is another reason why we're waiting to go on honeymoon! Gives me plenty of time to get my passport changed after! I want to go in my married name :)

My passport and driving licence are both due to be renewed in 2013 so I thought I'd just wait until then.

I wanted to go on honeymoon as a Mrs but we booked under my maiden name so I can't now. I just always assumed that I'd be a Mrs on honeymoon.
