I got engaged in March 2012 and we decided on a date shortly afterwards: September 2013. We had not long moved into our new place, I started a new job and my H2B was in the process of finding a new job. For ages I was too disheartened about planning a wedding because we couldn't save up for it, we could barely afford to eat! I was tempted to change the date but my heart was too set on it. But I had chosen on a colour theme, bridesmaids, best man and a location (just not a venue).

We didn't actually sit down and plan the thing properly until September last year, six months after the proposal. I started emailing venues for quotes and visits and I then organised a shopping day with my SILs who are also my BMs to look at dresses, suits and invite ideas. That got the ball rolling and since then I haven't stopped!

So when did you start planning your wedding?

We got engaged valentines 2010.. Started planning straight away and had booked our venue and registrar with in a month for July 2012. We decided on a colour scheme and I research alot but non of it felt real.. A year after booking (March 2011) we went for 'the talk' with our venue and they hadn't honoured any of the prices we agreed on as they said the would ! We quickly realised we'd never be able to afford it so we cancelled it.. We became really disheartened and didn't talk weddings at all until October last year.. We decided to go to the open evening at the venue down the road which had been taken over by new people (was faaaar too expensive when we looked first time round) and the prices were unbelievable for what we're getting.. This time round feels perfect and 100% real :-) That was February this year and I've been planning ever since :-) Wedding dress shopping on 10th August :-D eeeekk !!!!! Xxx

we got engaged boxing day 2012 and i think i started planning the next day :) i had pretty much everything booked and deposits paid by end of january/early feb. we are getting married in march x

we started planning ours last march hun, weve been engaged since 2008 x

about a year ago but had a totaly different theme which was my theme but then 180ed as found a even better theme that both I and my OH love, Doctor who! :) less than 2 years to go!

we got engaged properly last September and started planning pretty much straight away, we're getting married during the summer holiday's next year as I don't want to pull my children out of school xx

He proposed in January 2012, in February we set the date with the church for May this year, we properly started planning in March last year when we had confirmation of both church and reception venue booking. Fun times!

We got engaged September 2012 and had the venue/date booked and Save The Date's sent out by Christmas 2012. Since then we have been doing bits and pieces when I am off work. I work in a school so that gives us opportunities each half term etc to do a couple of things.
