We won't be going away on our honeymoon straight after the wedding as we can't afford to (although we have just re-calculated our budget and it's come out nearly 2k cheaper) so we're looking at a summer honeymoon at the minute but there are just too many places to choose from. I want somewhere that's going to be quite quiet preferably a no kids place and near to beeches and things so we can completely relax. It's really important for me that this is amazing because H2B has never been abroad. Is anyone else having their honeymoon a while after the wedding? Where has everyone looked/booked? What travel agents can people suggest too?

We were going to go to Mauritius in October, but decided it was way too much to spend to just lounge around. So we're now going to Italy in July (few months after the wedding) for 7 days to a 4* all inclusive adult only hotel....it looks amazing!! I think its going to cost us about 2k xx

if you want somewhere for 2k, we went to the rio de pariso I think it is called in Lanzarote. It was amazing and the best holiday we have been on to date. You can get a week for about 1300 all inclusive, perhaps a bit more now as it was 2 years we went. It is close to everything and it was an unbelievable holiday. It is set in a quiet fishing town only 5 minutes walk to the main shopping area so not too noisy so you can sleep in piece but still be right close to the action.

We are going to st lucia at couple of days after the wedding. I really didn't have a clue where i wanted to go before we booked. I really wanted to sit down with a travel agent and tell them the kind of thinks that we wanted and then get some advice and where we should go. Went into t cook and was basically told to go away if i wasn't booking then and there, so was really disappointed with there service. Then i tried althams and they were really helpful, spent about 5 hours in two different meeting with their long haul speciallist.

we haven't even thought that far ahead :/ i would like to go back to chicago but that no where near a beach. i can't see mine happening like i want we'll prob end up in spain :/
I wasn't happy about not going to Mauritius at first, cos I've always wanted to honeymoon there and you think when am I ever gonna get the chance if not now? But I guess at the same time you have to be realistic. We've both always wanted to go to Italy and we're thinking New York at Christmas aswell :) so I'm happy!

I don't know yet. We're definately not going straight after because of money.
We're both not the beach lying type, at least not for more than a few days let alone 2 weeks. We're also not sporty active but a city trip is our thing. The next trouble is our little one - I can't imagine going away without him and even if I'd let myself being talked into this I wouldn't know who could look after him for as long as a week (that's the absolute maximum I can maybe just maybe leave the little one).
In an ideal scenario I'd like to go for a city break to NYC for a few days with h2b and then have another short family orientated holiday in Italy.

Aruba looks like a nice place to go. hmmm. I hope I can get time off work too! I've only got a week off after the wedding. It's hard getting two weeks off together because our boss is dumb and doesn't realise that now we only work 3 days a week we can get away with having 3 staff off at the same time. I had to change my wedding date because I couldn't get it off work! ridiculous!

We're delaying our honeymoon as I work in a school and have set holidays. I am getting married at Easter and there wasn't enough days left of the holiday for our honeymoon so we are having a mini-moon in April and a honeymoon in July.

tinsel that just why we arent going till the end of july
so my mini moon will be my trip to vegas in april for the first ceremony lol in july we are heading to the Bay garden beach resort and spa in St Lucia ( have put a link on my wall )
Also doesn't help that I work in the Olympic Borough, so they have given us extra holidays in the Summer to enjoy the Games, but clawed the time back at Christmas and Easter :o(

I just showed H2B the place I've found in jamaica and said I was thinking a week, he loves it and wants to go for 2! It's an extra £600 for two weeks instead of just 1. eeee hope we can save up enough!

We had to get married around the school holidays last year (I was working in school) - so we married at the beginning of August then had a honeymoon in Malta. We went to Sliema, all inclusive - and around there were very few children and not that many British either. Plenty of sunbathing, excursions if we wanted and peace for a week lol.

Were not going straight away as the money just isnt there. Were currently looking at going on a Fly Cruise to the Med for 7 nights In october. Would love to go longer but im leaving my son at my parents i couldnt leave him for that long.

We only booked it 2 days ago! We get married on a sat and fly to the dominican republic on the monday following. It was important to us that we went sooner rather than later so we factored it into our budget and date so we could. Also we have made sure we are going all inclusive so we won't have any hidden costs.

We booked ours last week, Las Vegas, San Francisco and San Diego. Not beach people so cities are our thing. We're doing it ourselves as no package really covered those areas and the price from a travel agent was way more than doing it ourselves, even including all the extras in the fine print. We're going 2 days after the wedding for a fortnight.
Have also got to factor in the cost of a cattery! My poor puss is going on his holidays too! x

Ah thanks, i'm so excited! (Possibly more excited for this than the wedding at the moment - going through a lull!) Las Vegas for the lights and the madness, San Francisco for the culture and San Diego for the zoo and the beach! Sure it'd be easier to do it through a travel agent but it's kept the costs down a fair bit and we got more choice for hotels then. I wasn't really interested in the US until going to New York a couple of years ago and I loved it! x

We went to Mauritius in July and it was amazing!!!!! We booked via Mercury Direct as they did the EXACT same holidays as alot of the high street agents but cheaper XXX
