3 months ago i was told i have a wheat allergy, possibly could be coeliac (had blood test which were negative but waiting biopsy to confirm)

DOes anyone have a tried and tested cake recipe that is GF or wheat free?
I am also diabetic, alleric to pecans and pralines, shellfish (lord help us if those are in a wedding cake!!) and a number of other things.
I have seen a recipe on juvela, but not known anyone who has tried it.

I HATE the GF breads I have tried so far (change of subject slightly) and this is why i want a recipe someone has actually eaten.
We're just going to make the top tier in wheat free, so other guests at least get a nice piece of cake lol
(can you tell I am not liking the gluten free stuf much!!!)

I have tried some different brands of crackers, does your niece know if you got to juvela, and a few other websites you can get sent boxes of free foods to try?
Juvela is the biggest box, but there are about 4 companies who offer this, i forgot the other names but you can google it. The juvela box has white mix and brown mix in that you can use for cakes. we made a basic fairy cake with the white one, and it was lush and moist, but would that be ok for a wedding cake you think?

    ANd thanks :)

There's a gluten free thread on here froma few months ago. I'll try to find and bump it for you.
Wheat free is becoming increasingly popular and a lot of cake makers are fully aware and make some very good cakes.
I'm not a professional cake maker, but I do enjoy baking the odd cake at home and am also wheat free diet. I use Doves Farm Gluten Free SR flour and always add in a teaspoon of Xanthum Gum. That's the secret ;)
