Ours is £10k, £13 inc honeymoon. Venue is £5000 for 75 day, 130 evening with 8 hotel rooms.
I didn't set an amount to stick to as such, I made a list of everything we would need and everything we would like and the amount i'd be prepared to pay for each thing and added it up to get £10k.
We've had some help from family as they were keen to marry us off within a year which we couldn't have managed on our own!

Ours is coming in at just under 24k including honeymoon, and our wedding is a 3 day celebration. It's 18k for the main wedding day (including things like rings, outfits, insurance etc), and that's for 137 day guests and another 26 evening - but Mum has helped us out by giving us 2k for a wedding present plus our humungous cake! Our reception and catering is coming in just under 10k and the photo/video 2.5k, so overall I don't think we've done too bad considering!
CommentAuthorsuzky123
thanks for the food quotes. Its interesting to see how much is spent on venue/food compared to the total overall budget

Ours is coming in at £12k, we'd originally budgeted for £9k. and we havent gone overboard, a lot has been DIY but we havent scrimped. That's not including honeymoon either.
Our reception for 60 day guests (3 courses plus tea/coffee, half bottle wine pp, 2 glasses of fizz) and extra 80 evening guests (with small buffet and welcome drink) is costing just over £4000.

Ours will hopefully be around £3000. We have 60 day guests and an extra 50 coming for the evening Will are hiring a village hall which has its own bar with staff included in price which is £550
We are having a bbq which will cost 600 for 60 people The cake is being bought for us and a relative will be doing the photography We are having a diy candy buffet Cheese and biscuits in the evening which will come to £150 we will buy the platters from a well known supermarket
The hall will be decorated buy us so we can really put our personal stamp on We were also thinking of an ice cream bar for dessert which would cost around £150 Our honeymoon is being paid for by fil2b Just a few details lol but I think we have done very well in keeping cost down x

My total budget is about 6k. Just over 3k of that is on the venue, wedding breakfast and buffet. Very tight. If i get it under 6k I will be ecstatic! I didn't want to spend a fortune or get myself in massive debt over it just for one day. x

The average cost of a UK wedding is £11,000. We are looking too do ours in under £5,000. Which I know we can do as we are making everything we possibly can. The only thing we are gonna have too splash out on is the Church and Venue. Hopefully we can do it. XX

CommentAuthornic86
Ours is £13k, we are very lucky in that my parents are putting £7k towards the wedding and H2B'S parents are putting £3k towards the wedding so we have saved up another £3k to put towards it. I wouldn't say we have gone over board in fact far from it, and I have begged and bartered for almost everything! We have 100 in the day and 200 at night so that bumped up our costs quite a bit. This doesn't include our honeymoon, but we have been saving for our trip to New Zealand for the past three years!
CommentAuthorAnnekaC
We havent really set a budget, but it is rapidly heading towards £10.000. Thats without the honeymoon, but if i still work with the co op i will get a 10% discount off that too, which is something i guess. the venue, which is for the wedding/evening and the 3course sitdown meal, and buffet for 100 evening guests, a wedding planner, toastmaster and a 3 course meal on out 1st anni is costing just over £5000, which for what i was looking at was really cheap. Thats also with 30% off as its not in the wedding season.
Enjoy your days ladies :)

We are on £9.5k budget but this has risen from £8k as im useless at sticking to it..... £4.5 came from my dad (paying all the reception), £2k from my mum and we are paying the rest but H2B got a massive tax refund earlier this year so we havent had to save anything really so now we just have to save to pay off the £2k honeymoon.

Our original budget was £3000 which was just a figure we would 'like' it to be lol.We realised when we went to see the first venue that it was not going to be enough for what we wanted. We never came up with another figure we just tried to keep costs as low as possible, cutting costs where we could but without cutting corners.I saved an awful lot of money by making my own cake, favours, stationary, table planner etc etc and i got loads of bargains along the way on my veil, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, tiara and of course we didn't have a photographer. We reckon its probably cost us about £8000 but that includes £1300 for a ticket from Australia for my husbands son.It doesn't include a honeymoon which as it will be a family honeymoon to Australia will cost almost as much as the wedding again! xxx
CommentAuthorElliekitty
Our current spend is looking to be just under 6k which is double our first budget! However that doesn't include the 3k honeymoon, gosh how weddings can get out of hand!

I feel so much better reading this thread. Myself and my h2b are having a small intimate wedding, but because of that were making it a weekend thing. Having a meal on the friday evening so families can meet as they live about 200 miles apart. Then staying over having wedding the sat and staying till sunday morning. There is only 15-17 of us at the wedding deffo n more than 20. We worked it out that with everything i want about 10k which is alot for a small wedding but i want the works just because its small don't mean i can't have lol.. but since then i have found different ideas and locations so looking more around 8k x

Ours was around 7000, but I think its going to come in closer to 10k.. which is very scary! We are trying to save and scrimp, and diy a lot of things but our rings were much more than we thought and we fell in love with the caricaturist.. plu our cake is way more than we first thought! our venue including wedding breakfast, drinks reception for 80 and evening buffet for 100 is coming in approx 4000.. xx

We're lucky that our Bridesmaid is paying for her own dress and shoes and the groomsmen are paying for their suits. We're haven't planned on a honeymoon though as we didn't think we could afford it so maybe we'll be able to have one now x

We're aiming for under £3,000 and so far I think that we're on target. We're having a smallish wedding (45 for the day), we're getting married at the local registry office which is costing £125, and then the reception at our local pub where we can have the function room for free so have only got to pay for the food and drink

Good luck to the girls still trying to keep their budgets.

i originally budgeted £5000 for our wedding but now its more like £10000, i didnt want to spend this much, as i can't justify spending that much on 1 day but its what h2b wants, (i've been married before) glad we dont do credit/cards etc else i'll be putting my foot down! must say im surprised how much everything costs and i take my hat off to anyone that can do crafts or are doing it cheaper Xx

Our maximum is 10k but thats with over budgeting everything. We will be doing a lot of diy items (flowers, invites, etc) so hoping these items come in under budget, for example we've allowed 500 for flowers but they should be under 200 hopefully! 1000 for 2 gorgeous cars but could have a limo for aound 300, am I really willing to spend 700 extra to have a picture next to a fancy car? 1000 for my dress but after reading up on here think i'll probably go with 'she who cant be named' for around 200! We'll have to wait &see.

CommentAuthorMrsThomson2B
we worked out that we could save approx £14,000 over 3 years but I am hoping that the budget will come in at around £11,000. We seem to be fairly on track for that but will know better once we finish booking the large items such photographer and entertainment.
So far we have spent: Venue £5,000 this inc 3 course meal, reception drink, canapes, teas and coffes after meal, 2 glasses of wine per guest and sparkling wine for toast, evening buffet, ceremony room hire, table linen, upgrade to suite on the night of the wedding and complimentary suite for me the night before. We have 80 day guests and approx 120 at night.
Flowers £600 this is for bridal bouquet, 3 x bridesmaids bouquets, 1 x flowergirls bouquets, 4 button holes, 2x mum corsages and 10 x table centre pieces.
Cake £325 we had £100 voucher that we won so the cake was originally £425 for 4 tier sponge with each tier being a different flavour.
Dress £300, gift from friend who owns bridal store i only paid a fraction of what the dress is worth.
Venue dressing £free we won venue dressing for 50 which included chair covers and centrepieces but i had already ordered the centrepieces so i am getting all of my chair covers free instead.
We have budgeted £2,000 for the entertainment and photographer in total so if we stick to that i reckon we are on course to make sure we stay in budget.
