It was one of the criteria on which we chose our caterers, whether they suggested interesting vegetarian dishes rather than bleeding risotto, pasta or goat's cheese! I was veggie for years and my mum's veggie, but Grant's dad really objects to vegetarianism... Said basically "Let them eat pork"... Nice!

i just dont know coz my favourite meals are things like tortilini/ lasange/spagetti bolognese but obvisouly vegeterian

Email them and ask for their vegetarian menu, as it's not on their website

I love that idea! I lied to my venue and said that my friend is making me a cheesecake wedding cake, as well as me having a 'normal wedding cake'. Might nick this idea though. Do you think I could just buy massive cheese in 3 different sizes?

Was the cheese plonked on top of each other or was it on a cake stand?

Lisa - thanks; it was a joint plan between us and the chef. I had a less-fancy afternoon tea at another friend's wedding, with hogroast in the evening and it worked really well so we thought we'd go all out and make the afternoon tea a full meal! Also means that we'll be having it at about the right time of day and not either eating a big meal at 4pm or having to keep everyone waiting hungry till the evening.

Starter
- Chef's soup of the day with croutons (will find out nearer the time what this is and can change if we don't like it!)
- Rose of chilled melon with summer fruits and minted fruit coulis (V)
Main
- Breast of chicken with a wild mushroom veloute on a soft fondant potato and a selection of seasonal vegetables
- Spinach and garlic mushroom wellington with a mushroom sauce (V)
Dessert
- Dark chocolate and raspberry cheescake with a raspberry coulis

Evening Buffet - A selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, mini pizza slices, tortillas & salsas

This is as far as I have got!

Forgot to say as well, our venue is the only one we visited that will give us a choice of courses for no extra money, most charge about £5/head for a choice!!

Just having the old traditional kinda menu, Homemade Veggie Soup for starters, followed with a Turkey & Seasonal Veg Roast completed with Chocolate Profiteroles for dessert. Yum x

Well, I see your point but it's my wedding! :p

If there are any veggies there will be something else provided for them but tbh I don't think there will be.

We have no say in our menu unless we want to pay more money which I dont so we are having
Tomato soup
Chicken dinner
Choc fudge cake

Its all very standard food though so I dont think anyone will complain and I dont think we have any veggies amongst us. I will have to ask for the chicken not to be wrapped in bacon for a few people though.

Yea, I understand, luckily my fiance is a human dustbin and we don't tolerate fussy eaters. It's one meal, if they don't like it they can order room service when they go to bed.

I just don't think I could put up with it, God help me if we have fussy kids. I think I will make a 'if you don't like it, tough' rule.

I think I am just being an arse! I dont want soup in case I get it down me, I dont like fungus, personally fruit is a pudding and Stu doesnt eat fish and most of the family dont eat pate!
They have provided us with alternative menus at a cost increase but stil based along the same lines.
The only thing I can think of is cheese and bacon potato skins with sour cream. No bacon for the veggies and no cheese for Stu's mum!
The main will have to have a roast, but I keep thinking to myself it wont be like the raosts we have at home.. Plate full, swede, parsnips, proper roasts, no frozen veg.... See what I mean...

Im glad we dont have fussy eaters in our familys either I was brought up to eat it if you like it or not :-)

I dont know if any of our guests will object to the meal but noone has asked me what they will be having lol

If anyone objects we can offer a veggy option which I will have to choose.
