Hi all, just interested what ppl are doing for favours, if you are, is there a set budget, donation to charity, anything unusual? Iv got purple as my main theme and was thinkin of puttin dairy milk bars out for everyone as a favour so it incorporates the colour, what do you think?
CommentAuthorJill
I think that's a great idea hun :) I'm currently looking at these beautiful 'fall for love' soap favours as they look like they were made to match my invites and they fit our colours. Plus we're having an Autumn wedding so would fit right in :)

CommentAuthorjellybean
hi ive got mirror compacts for the ladies and just doing sweets for the guys, im also doing cadbury purple theme for the wedding and the chocolate idea sounds great x
We weren't going to do any favours, but we had an idea at the weekend to make a donation per person to the charity set up in memory of my OH's nephew who sadly died last year. We're thinking of printing little cards with information about the charity and we might also include the charity's wristband or pin. x

I have ages yet to decide but I love sweety's so I thought about just setting up like a ye ol' tuck shop table with little jars for people to help themselves... What do people think? xx
CommentAuthorJill
RA thats the best reason, I wouldnt even have thought about that but mini eggs are just so much nicer!
Carly I think that's a great idea, I'd consider the same if I thought I'd be able to leave the sweets alone before the wedding but they'd never make it and I'd never get into my dress x

We are having charity favours. My OH mum passed away a year ago of cancer, she was cared for wonderfully by the local hospice. we are making a donation for a bulk lot of their pin badges. they will be placed on the table with a card explaining that a donation has been made on their behalf to the charity in memory of her mum. Its personal and we think people will understand and apreciate it. Her mum was the family matriach and is so missed. its a way of being able to have her at the wedding too xx

We're also having seeds or flower bulbs. But they're going to match my bouquet flowers. I haven't decided on flowers yet tho x

I'm think of lottery tickets, in pretty little envelopes! Or scratchcards even, as they might add a bit of fun and get people talking. Do you think its a bit tacky. Honest?
CommentAuthorfwills25
No dont think its tacky my MIL2b did that at her wedding and it went down really well

the tealight will sit top left of the place setting and the cupcake will either be in the middle of the place setting or given at end of the night :)

Sounds like a good idea :) Were giving everyone a miniature spirit and making personalised tags to go on each of them. Somewhere in h2b's speech hes going to say have a drink on us then all the ushers will hand the miniatures out :)

I have bought bottle opener keyrings for the men and keyring mirrors and mini lip glosses for the ladies.
CommentAuthorMrsMoass2B
We've doing little silver buckets filled with chocolates. The buckets come in at 75p each, so with chocolates and a bit of ribbon should be under £2 each. Love the cadbury miniatures but we have a teal and soft pink colour scheme so wouldn't quite work for us! x

Some great ideas here ladies, i am just loving this site so much, everyone here is getting sick of me with my wedding brain! lol! I am thinking of filling some little purple organza bags with love heart sweets,as purple is our theme. Have also seen some personalised love heart sweets and just married ones which i think will be nice. I love the idea of the donation to a charity too. :)

Having had a look in my cupboard and I have about 7 empty yankee candle jars of varying sizes might give them a good clean and fill them for favours I'm sure by then I'll have enough only need 20.
CommentAuthorJillybean
We were having gumball machines that dispensed little chocolate footballs lol but my MIL2b has an engraving company and wants to do them for us. So we've agreed on small sweet jars and half will have chocolate footballs in and the other half chocolate or jelly hearts. Then we'll alternate them around each table (h2b wants the lads to have the f.balls n girlys to have the hearts but ive told him its not girl boy around the table so it will look odd!) MEN they dont understand presentation lol x

I've just counted, washed and tried to de-label them. I have six empty one in use. So will have enough by the time the wedding comes around. I've got through about 8 in a year plus tarts and samplers ooops.
CommentAuthorFitchMcCombe
I'm thinking either donations to a selected charity or something fun, like I thought it would be nice to give out kites, I found a wholesale toy site that would sell them for 99p each! x
CommentAuthorkirstyless
I've got organza bags filled with chocolate hearts. We've gone for half silver and half purple as thats the colour scheme x
CommentAuthorHelenW
We're also doing purple as our theme. I'm making wine glass charms and we're giving everyone the Quality Street "purple one", as it ties in with how H2B and I first got together! x

i am thinking of either little boxes filled with choc hearts or even the mini love hearts with our own label on. Not sure yet, i would need quite a lot though so cant have anything too expensive x
CommentAuthormrscookiecrew
that sounds like a brillient idea. i might steal that if u dont mind as my theme is cadbury purple and pink and my brother works at cadbury's so he gets things like that for free x
