So its me again talking about the band I want 4 the reception. The band I really like is pretty expensive, but comes with a lot of tings in the package, Theres another band that I like but they r not as good (in my opinion) and the package doesnt give u as much. They are 400 pounds cheaper than the 1s I really like. What would you do? It is pretty expensive 4 a band, but they r great!

Only you can decide how important this band us, whether they are worth the extra money and if you can afford it. Basically if you can justify the cost to yourself go for it xx

If I were you I would write out a list of everything to do with your wedding in order of importance, then work out how much the most important things will cost and whether or not you will have enough to cover the rest of the bits on the list, and if not if you could go without them. If you can still have everything you really want with having the most expensive band then have them, if not the go for the cheaper one xxx

They may not be cheaper in the long run. I would get an itemized list of services provided by the band you like and then see if there things you can drop to save money.

Can you alter the budget for other things try and find the money rob Peter to pay paul that way you don't go over budget your just moving priorities if that makes sense basically try to come under budget on everything else so you can stretch to them remember the disco is the party it is quite important

i never realised having a band wud b so much hassle!lol me personally, wud rather have great entertainment on the nite, than a load of favours and decorations on the tables. wenever ive been 2 a wedding i always remember the band or DJ rather than the favours they had!heehee x

I agree about the favours. I always feel really bad for the bride when you see them left behind as well :(

It's a decision only you can make. I assume you have an itemized bill from them as u say u are getting a great package. If you are happy o sacrifice things to free up the extra 400 then go for it. No point in settling for a band which is "ok" if that's what's important to you both. We're sacrificing on favours to cover th cost of a caracturist. However our guests take the pics away with them so that's a favour I guess!x

I don't think £400 is a massive enough difference to justify sacrificing something you really want for something that's just 'ok'.

Is there any way you can add this into your budget? I agree, defo rather have decent entertainment than flowers etc.

    Xx
