    Hi Ladies

Im writing a list so i can get someone to write my place names but was wondering whats best to write
our names or bride and groom?
My dads first names of Father of the bride
fil first name of father of the groom
    bestmans name or best man
mums name or mother of the bride etc.....

none of these people will be on the top table excpet us and my mum n dad are split up so will be on different tables

even grandparents its weird to say there names but do i write Granny or her name Granda or his name

I would have 'Bride' and 'Groom', but for other people like FOB and MOB etc. I would personally put their name and then their role underneath, but it's whatever you feel most happy with :)

I would put grandparents' names as well rather than 'Granny' etc - would also save any element of confusion if your OH has grandparents as well.

I have been wondering this too. I'll have bride and groom and then I might just do what I've done with invites by writing their names (instead of bridesmaids and best men etc) not entirely sure on grandparents though, might talk about that with Oh nearer the time. I like the idea of maybe writing their roles underneath their names though floss :)

I think it's nice to highlight their role because it's not like it happens very often.. makes it feel more 'special' :) x

We had 'bride', 'groom', 'best man', and 'chief bridesmaid' and then for everyone else's it was just names. I did ask my parents what they'd prefer and they just wanted their names.

Also, on a similar but slightly unrelated note we had the seating plan pretty formal (full names), but used nicknames for the menu/place cards, eg Oli instead of Oliver or Sam instead of Samantha etc which everyone really liked.

I think we'll just have names although I hadn't really thought of this until now! Maybe I'll have bride and groom for us and then names for everyone else xxx

That's something I've not actually thought about tbh. I personally want my new full name on my card cause its my day!haha although the way I'm going it'll read 'Mrs S Taylor-pain in the butt bridezilla!'....just read the above back to my h2b and he sighed..... he's not suppose to agree haha

We will have peoples actual names on the place name cards...we have more than one Nanny between us for a start so it wouldn't work for us writing anything else...although we will definitely have to have 'bride' for mine cos my h2b's cousin has the same first name as me so there will already be someone there with my new married name! :( haha! xx

My friend had Mr Jones and Mrs Jones and everyone else as their full names. I can imagine that could confuse the mother and father in law though!! I would personally have bride and groom. Like Floss said, it doesnt happen often enough x
