    Heyah congrats!!
I think it depends mostly on when you find stuff lol
I booked the date and church, then booked my venue and that includes my food and dj. I then booked my photographer. I have a cake tasting session with my cake maker on the 25th feb and then I have a ring company coming to see me in April. Im still shopping about for my hiring of venue decorations and cars. Really I just need to sort dresses and suits out lol. I'm pretty organised so far.
Look around at different suppliers as you may find a better deal with someone else :D

i tend to say after venue, start thinking about the type of theme and then book things around that. I liked to do the girly things so I went for dress and BM dresses and then entertainment and flowers

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo

Hiya, congrats on your engagement :) well done on setting the actual date. I think next think about the type of service you want, if it's a church then get in touch with the minister/vicar, if it's register office/civil ceremony then get in touch with the registrar that covers the area where your venue is.

After that things like photographers and some specialist cars get snapped up quite quickly so have a hunt for them. You've got quite a bit of time to snap up lots of bargains. Have you set a theme or colour scheme yet?

I agree about the guest list! We tried to write a rough guest list and seating plan and it was sooo stressful. So we just put it aside and haven't tried again yet haha. Apart from that, I haven't found anything else stressful. I'm too excited to get stressed :) my wedding's June 2013, which at the moment feels like forever away! But we're planning away anyway and looking forward to the date arriving :) xx

Hi and congrats on your engagement.
The first few things I would say is decided on your budget and stick to the max amount, then the guest list so you have a rough idea of numbers, then looking for a venue that fits comfortably within budget and can work in your favour number wise (try and hunt around for somewhere that does a package); Getting married on a weekday is/can be cheaper than getting married on a weekend. I would also say hunt around provisionally for a photographer as you can get a great deal and the photographer you want as I have found they tend to get booked up pretty early.
Hope this helps, have fun! : ) x

    Welcome, and congratulations!

When we got engaged, we got the big things done first-.e all the "bookable" things first; venue, photographer, car and chair covers.

All these things get snapped up very quickly, so get them organises as soon as. Things like your colour scheme, can be decided upon as you go. Things like invites, save the dates ( i refuse to say STD's lol) also can be decided upon at a later date.

That said, you may see the dress that you want, so that may come first. Butmi would get the photgraphy, car etc sorted first.

i agree about the guest list. We did a draft so we knew whch venues we could choose due to the minimum numbers rule but it has been changed sooooooo soooooo many times since the original draft. Nightmare. I have even done a mock table plan using the tool on here but I know that is going to have to change but at least I have a vague idea. And its something you can do if you get bored watching the tele :) I did it in between the adverts haha!
