Any tips on what to look for when searching for the right people to do wedding hair and make up. Is there any do's and don'ts. I'm about to do my research. :) thanks xxx

someone that you feel comfortable with. they will be with you on the morning of your wedding so being comfortable with them and having a laugh is important! and of course the obvious things like making sure you look at pics etc. i would make sure that they are with you all morning too - you want them to be there until the end and you dont want them to say that they need to leave at 11 and wont be there when you get your dress in case something goes wrong x
oh and if you go for a family friend make sure she doesnt bring her whole family with you on the morning of your wedding!!! that happened to my step mom and she turned up with her 3 young children who ran round the house screaming all day and they were in all the pics and video x

i asked around people that we knew. my step mom recommended her hairdresser and makeup lady (ive gone for the hairdresser but not the makeup woman for reasons above lol!). MIL was talking to her friend at work and she has a friend who is professional make up artist - looked at her facebook page and saw some great pictures and i booked her. also wedding fayres are quite good as they normally have a few people there and you can get to see what they are like and if you enjoy their company - its a long time to be around someone you dont like on your wedding day lol x

We go to wedding fairs but i have never seen anyone doing hair and make up. I will google and try from there :) xx

I definitely second Becky suggestion of asking for recommendations. A lot of salons offer this service even if it isn't heavily advertised.

I'm having our hair done at my local salon and have someone coming to go my make-up she's local and I found her on google I just typed in wedding make-up I've been to see her and having a trial thurs x

I had a makeup trial at my local 3oots, the girl there was lovely listened to what I wanted and went through loads of hints and tips, I asked if she does make up for weddings and she does so maybe you could try that, go to the 3enefit counter and some of the other make up counters xx
