Traditionally the gift is something gold but that might be pricey! If they can't afford the party then that itself could be a gift but if you want to get something I know all the elderly folk I know are quite sentimental! So maybe a photo frame with a picture of the whole family in.. depends on your price range really? My H2B's Nan really wants to go on a hot air balloon ride so we were thinking of getting her an experience day voucher for that for her 80th! = D Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! x

i would do the pic but there are big issues with one of her daughters in that she has used them a lot and the family have shunned her... only my nan and grandad talk to them now so may be awkward... i could get a nice pic of the two of them together tho abnd blow it up and have space for messages around it... great idea girls ta

One of the things me and my H2B did for our engagement party was to buy some cheap white plastic table cloths for the buffet table and decorate them ourselves with like 'V<3M' and 'Matt and Vic Forever' .. We also found lyrics to our favourite love songs and wrote them on another tablecloth and I drew little pictures next to each, ended up looking great so we used that as a wall decoration! = D Was deffo a talking point! Also we took one of the blank tablecloths and put in on the wall with a pot of marker pens and people wrote messages on it to us and we took it home for keeps = ) .. Only 75p for a tablecloth and it just makes that little bit of difference when you go to the extra effort = D Hope their party is fab! = ) xxx

I bought my parents a rose bush for the garden called 'golden anniversary' and they loved it. I was going to say family photo but see that would be difficult. How about an outfit for the party? A nice white shirt and golden tie for grandad and a glitzy top for ur nan?

When it was my grandparents 40th anniversary the whole family chipped in and then just gave the money to my grandparents and they bought a green house with it- is this worth considering?
