    Hey all,

Well, transport is next on my list...

Both our house (where h2b will be getting ready) and sil house (where me, my mum and the bms will be getting ready) are about twenty minutes walk away from the venue so literally a two minute drive.

However, I don't fancy tramping to my wedding in full wedding regalia (not to mention painful shoes!).

I've been looking at wedding car hire, and it seems a bit of a rip off for my situation....around 2-3 hundred for just two cars.

I'm thinking of just prebooking a couple of eight seated taxis tbh.

What do you ladies think? Xx

We were in the same situation for our blessing. We had it in a local park that was about the same distance. We hired a taxi.

You could do, or ask around friends and family, see whether they have a nice car that they could drive you in, put some ribbon on it etc

taxi, some have really nice ones. though a taxi driver suggested to me, that as some taxi firms still hike the prices for wedding get dropped off at an address across the road, or next door lol

My brother and his bride had the same issue. The bride decided to get the money's worth and went on a detour and the driver had to drive around the town quite a few times lol.

Anyway there is another way to get your moneys worth, use the time you have with the car to transport the entire bridal party separately to the church. For example he should firstly bring groom and bestman then go back for the grooms parents. Bring them together if they are still together or separately if divorced. Then he comes for the bridesmaids and mother of the bride and lastly you and whoever is giving you away. My brother also did it this way as they had 2 cars but realistically one car would have been enough.
Even though I'm a budget bride I won't be getting a taxi to my wedding, my parents are paying for my cars but even if they weren't its not even up for negotiation as I believe every bride should arrive in style on her big day. I say book the car but get your moneys worth :-)

Taxi could be an option, or get some ribbon that they put on wedding cars and if certain family members don't mind driving (if any of them do) the possibly use those cars.

No way would I pay £100s for a car if I live that close.

We're all using family cars just to save some costs anyway but we live about 30mins away from the registry and about 10mins drive from the reception.

I would go with a taxi or a friends car. I'm going to be getting ready in one of the venue's cottages in the morning, & that's literally a minute or so away & my dad has a Range Rover sport so I'm just going to ask him to put a ribbon on it & drive me there or I'll walk lol. Nobody will even see my transport anyway as they'll all be seated & waiting & our whole day is at the same venue so won't need transport again that day xx
