Im really confused on what to do. Me and my partner have been together nearly 3 years and engaged almost 1 year. I love craig to bit and could think of nothing better than to marry him. However my family say i should postpone my wedding (which is ment to be on 27/12/13) as craig has lost his job and is stuggling to find work at the moment, therefore im the one doing the most saving up and working all the time to get the money. I can understand where my family is coming from wanting me to wait and stuff and my head is completely agreeing with them but after losing my granddad recently, my brother fighting cancer and craigs father passing away when he was young, i've realised that life is short and you must live it to the max, think about today not tommorrow. thats why my hearts says keep it on the date we chose even if it means that we give up our dream wedding just to have a small wedding with close family. This is the dilema do i follow my heart and give up our dream wedding just so we can get married sooner or do i follow my head and postpone it so we can have our dream wedding just in a few years time. Any advice would so helpfull before i go crazy.

Why not have a small wedding now and save up and on your 5 year anniversary renew your vows and have your dream wedding then?

I would go for the smaller do. Money is tight for us so we're doing very small like above you can have a bigger vow renewal in a few years.x Youre right life is to short and hopefully your H2B will find something soon x

Definitely go for a smaller wedding but still at the same time. No harm in just cutting numbers. You've still got a lot of time, anything can happen in that time, look for cheaper options on everything and start now to help spread the costs.

Weddings arnt all about the biggest and the best, its about the love u and ur OH have. It doesnt have 2 b huge! As the other girls said have a smaller do if ur happy with that then perhaps even have a big reception type party the year after?

Yep I agree too. At the end of the day the most important people at your wedding are you and your h2b. Have a lovely small affair and when money's not as tight, go all out and celebrate your love!!

    (Wow that sounds mushy lol)

    xx

I would either go for the smaller do, or continue saving up for the do you want. Just don't put down any non-refundable deposits. There are always last minute and special off season package as well that you can take advantage of. Your date is already in the off-season so a deal is possible. Look at venues you would like your wedding at and watch if they do any last minute deals for weddings this winter, you can always ask for the discount to be applied to a 2013 wedding. When there's the will there is always a way. Good luck :)

awww good luck talking things through. An off season package sounds good if you can get hold of one. That way your numbers are set out and there would already be a lot of things included. You wouldn't have to put much extra to it! If your chosen venue don't do a package, why not ask if they are willing to put one together for you? if you're off season then it will be good trade for them x
