I have 11 tattoos (4 on left arm, 3 on right arm, 1 on chest, 2 on neck and 1 on left leg) and 7 piercings (3 in bottom lip, 2 in right side of nose, 1 13mm tunnel in right ear and 1 side piercing in left ear) Now my fiance loves my tattoos and piercings and doesn't want me to take them out or cover them up and I know I'd feel more comfortable with them in however I want them to look more to the occasion. The only ideas I've had so far are to replace my hoops and studs with smaller more fitting silver or gold piercings and to add some gold/silver leaf to the tattoos. Doing this in a way that doesn't look tacky is what is worrying me! The two on my neck are usually covered anyway and the one on my leg won't be as on show however the rest on my chest and arms will be. I know that tattoos aren't to all taste so please avoid lecturing/tattoo removal comments please. (Might seem paranoid but I've had some bad hassle in the past! haha)

If you feel more comfortable with them in and uncovered and people know you have these why cover them up/replace them? You could always have some kind of strapless dress with a jacket over the top to cover the tattoos for the ceremony and take it off afterwards? not sure re the piercings though x

hunni your tattoos are part of you so be proud of them why should YOU change on YOUR day to please other people
Hey there, I have...umm..wait....12 tattoos...depends how you count em, and 1 is a half a r s e d, half done one that covers my entire back :/ lol I'm having the one on my back covered up/removed, but the rest will be on display on the big day :) I LOVE the pictures I've seen of brides with big chestpieces in their wedding gowns, it's sooo pretty :)
Seriously, there is no reason you can't look traditional just cuz you've got tattoos and piercings, my best friend just got married, with lots of tattoos, and no one thought for a second she didn't fit or didn't look like a bride! I want to look back at my weddingphotos and see ME, not a weird version of me with no ink :/
But hey if ya wanna cover up I've got some tips there too! ;) Get some armwarmers for your arms to cover up, there's a lady on Etsy that does AWESOME ones, got a pair for myself, I'll link it to ya if you want. A bolero jacket can cover a lot at the top, but your chest I dunno. Piercings, yeah, deffo go for silver or gold, but keep it YOU! It will look super cool and classy if you just choose the right jewelery! xx

armwarmers ? like leg warmers .....the knitted ones ...... not sure on that look for a wedding lol lol
I too have several piercings and tattoos (I don't wear all my facial ones anymore - I took them out for a job and never put them back in, but have lots in my ears still). I wont be taking any out or covering any up for the wedding as they are part of who I am (H2B agrees) and he is especially proud of the two tattoos on my left wrist/arm - one of our daughter's name, and one of two shooting stars for our two babies we never met - as they will be in the focus along with my wedding ring on the big day. I will be replacing 4 of my earings with bridal earings, but will be keeping all my other ear piercings in as normal x

I wouldnt worry about them too much. Like others have said your tattoos are a part of you. i have 4 but none of mine are visible with my wedding dress on. My chief bridesmaid haas a lot of piercings on her face she is doing like you said and just putting some small pretty studs in them for the day. We tried them the other afternoon and looks lovely.

I agree with everyone else on here, that if you cover them up you won't look like you. If you know someone who uses photoshop, you could do a couple of photo's now to see how you would look on photo's with your tattoos and piercings removed? This might make you realise that you will look just as bride-like with your tattoos and piercings on show.
I love my lickle Ava

Hi I have a scorpion tattoo on my upper arm and it will def be on show for my wedding. I even went to a tattooist to get it sharpened up for the big day. I'm now thinking about getting some gold and purple body paint to make it stand out even more. So wear them with pride I say! xx

Just be yourself, don't change as you will still be you after you are married too x

I say do whatever you feel comfortable with. You don't wanna look or feel like a stranger on your wedding day, if you feel good with your piercings and tattoos on show then show them off! I am! x x

haha after reading this it's almost made me feel like I should have my chest piece finished for the wedding! Besides I suppose the Resident Evil Umbrella corp tattoo showing while in a wedding dress would be strangely awesum haha. Thanks all xx

I have tattoos too and after seeing the back of my dress last night and my shoulder tattoo on show it will DEFINATELY be covered up as lowers the tone of the dress. Although tbh, i don't like the tattoo on my shoulder so not too bothered about that.
My tat on my foot will also be covered up, not because i don't like it, but for once i want to look feminine. My h2b's arms are covered in tats and he's got one that will not be completed by the big day, which i'm slightly upset about as it would look better if it was completed.
The tats are a part of us, and i love tats, i just think that there are certain times in live when i sometimes don't want them on show.
I've got some brilliant make up that covers up scars and tattoos so will be using that. xx
Happy to be Mrs Holt, love my husband and love the memories
of our wedding day

My H2b has 10 tattoos and I looovveeee them :) (1 on his neck, 1 on his chest, 1 on his right foot, 1 on his left leg, and the rest are over both arms) Most of his will be covered but I'm hoping that some will be on show

My moh has tats and shes just covering up for the photos with a shawl on her arms but she has an eyebrow piecing ive told her its up to her as i want her to be my moh regardless of her tats and peircings!! It all comes down to how you feel x
CommentAuthorFoxySaurus
One of my BMs has tattoos and I don't want her covering them. I keep teasing her saying I'm going to pick a horrible dress, I think she'd die if I added to the stress by saying 'cover your ink'
CommentAuthorKinkyemo
Im only hiding one tattoo on purpose and thats only if I get a chunky bangle and only because on my pics its going to look like a splodge and one at the bottom of back isnt going to be seen as my dress will cover it! I have a big one at the top of my back and its not the most feminine but I LOVE it and I have 3 lip piercings and my nose and im not taking them out Im going to buy some jewled balls for them! My mom HATES all of them but I dont care they are MEEEEEE oh and one of them is UV which is totally awesome lol!
My tatts and Piercings are part of who I am and Id never change that!
CommentAuthorFoxySaurus
Oh no they are part of me and like I said H2B is tattooed himself and doesn't want me to ever take out the piercings/hide the tattoos. The piercings I'm doing the same as you Kinky and putting in something more shiny, getting smaller silver/gold hoops. The tattoos I'm getting smartened up before the wedding. With the quirky feel the day will have I probably wont have anything to worry about haha

Your tattoos and piercings are what you are! You should celebrate them rather than trying to find ways to hide them!
I do like the idea of having the sparkle put on your tattoos though! Sounds lovely xxx

What are the tattoos? Writing or images? Xxx

I am quite proud of most of my tattoo's, all but one of them. The one I m going to cover up is an American Flag with a Bald eagle ripping through it. My sister is a qualified beauty therapist, so she is trying different ways with me to cover it. We can't cover it completely, because it is quite bright, but we are managing to cover it just enough that it won't show up at all on any of my photographs, and we have managed to do so with foundation, it takes quite a bit of it, but as it's the only one I'm covering it's not so bad. xx

But I do have a lot of the same placements as you ;) We're having a tattoo themed wedding actually, dont think I said. We're having swallows, hearts, daggers, diamonds and roses on invites, my shoes, earrings, cufflinks, the cake, the walls-you name it lol

Your tattoos are part of what make you 'you' and you feel beautiful so celebrate them, and choose a dress that looks fab with them and you'll look amazing!!! I've only got my feet and wrists tattooed (4 tatts in total) as I've got to have them covered for work, but would love an arm piece and writing along my collarbone!

Haha I understand that Annette!! All of my stars minus my shoulder were done by me even just to waste time waiting on a taxi!! I can't have it in the same building when I'm drinking or knowing me I'd wake up with whiskers, clown makeup and my name backwards across my forehead!! x

hahaha, that would be epic! And quite horrible lol. No the only reason I'm "safe" atm is I don't have all the equipment I need around, need to have a mosey on the bay of e when I have a bit more money and get some new grips and stuff. I've got some, but theire not the disposable ones and I don't really like em :/ xx

Show them off and be proud if that is what you want, if anyone shows distaste that is their problem not yours, it is your day and your life, just think 30 years time how funny it will be looking back and saying yep that's me on my wedding day :>, if you want to cover them up mac used to do a make up that covers strawberry birthmarks that will cover tattoos my cousin used it on her back and arms when she got married, try getting make up to cover them take a test photo and see what you think, but don't let anyone make you do something you don't want too, its too boring everyone being the same, i've got cherries and swallows and really liking the tattoo themed wedding above sounds ace xx
