We're going on holiday with H2B's family to florida in a couple of months. I know that a lot of people are planning on that for their honeymoons. We think we have planned everything we want to do whilst we're there. Has anyone ever been? What is a definite miss and what is a must do? We'll be very limited on budget so dont really want to pay a fortune to go and see something rubbish. We're also going to be all adults which will be a bit of a different one so if anyone can recommend any beaches that would also be amazing x

We went at Christmas with the kids and so we stuck to Disneyland, which was fab at that time of year! I insisted that we did Sea World and I absolutely loved it, we also did the swimming with Dolphins at Discovery Cove, which is a complete day out, in gorgeous surroundings and private beach. I suppose it depends on what you like to do hun x x

We're definitely going to seaworld. We think we're going to get an orlando flexi ticket that covers 5 of the parks but none of the actual disney ones. Luckily it includes Seaworld and Atlantica (or Aquatica whatever it's called) We dont really want to swim with dolphins. Though I'd love to do it we've looked into the prices and it's too much x

I would avoid Seaworld as I think its cruel to make animals do tricks. And a lot of research shows that swimming with dolphins is extremely stressful for the dolphins.

Ooh yeah we're doing Old Town. Apparently they have the cars and tribute acts and things on a few days a week so we're gonna have to look into when that's on x

You should do the shopping outlets too. there are loads at the end of International Drive which is where all the parks are. There is a bus/tram thing that goes up and down international drive and stops at the main places. xx

lol IT Man . You have a really good memory!! Yeah the whole purpose of the trip is to time in with one of the last launches of Discovery from the Kennedy Space Centre. And we looked into Gatorland but my future mother in law isn't allowing any of us anywhere near an alligator lol x

...another thing you could do is book a mini-holiday within the holiday.... we drove down to Miami and spent 2-3 days there which was good! The drive takes a good chunk of a day but the pace is slower, its sunny, and so it doesn't feel a chore but more like a mini-adventure...

islands of adventure @ universal is the best theme park. Kennedy space centre was the biggest let down for me, there's hardly anything to actually do, just lots of video's to watch and things just to look at. The space shuttle simulator at epcot is a million times better than the one kennedy space centre. Oh and if you get a sat nav, type in designer outlets, theres hundreds everywhere got some uggs for £90.

Downtown Disney was brilliant, I also loved Universal, Sea World, Wet n Wild and my abolute fave was Bush Gardens.
In terms of beaches I think it was Dayton we went to - at the time you could drive straight onto it and was huge (it was a while ago though) x

we went to daytona beach too, you could still drive on to the beach then (nov 09) so its probably still the same now. Oh and by the way its impossible to get a cup of tea anywhere. even in supermarkets you can't buy tea bags (apart from the international ailse in walmart) so either take a supply or prepare to suffer a week of lemon and ice tea instead!

i would avoid 'wonderworks' and 'ripleys believe it or not', they are both on international drive. they are ok, but i think the money could be spent elsewhere. the flex-ticket is the best idea, then you can go to the parks whenever you like, and go twice if you so wish. you will love it, can i coe in your suitcase please???? xxxx lol

we went n did loads while we were there, the only thing we were disapointed with was epicot it was a little boring, good to go once but not again, when we go back we'll be missing out this park. otherwise it was fantastic all of it, no holiday will ever match up to it- once we are married we're getting a timeshare on international drive. universals fab - both parks and city walk for the night, the blue man group was interesting as was the pirate show, i could rave on about florida loads as we love it there- but we do tend to go in January as the queues are not too long then xx have fun n go on the rock n roller coaster n the hulk !!
