On Sunday We are going to the service at the church we are getting married in, so we can meet the new Rev and ask some questions, but what should we ask? I need to ask about timing and flowers but not sure what exact questions I should ask about everything. And if they have agreed to marry us and taken our deposit can then refuse us if it's a dif Rev? Just my oh is divorced so I know some can be abit funny and the one before wasn't but I worry about this one :/

Most church denominations allow the remarriage of divorcees, the main exception is the Catholic church. In most churches there is a conscience clause allowing individual vicars/priests/ministers to refuse to marry a divorcee, but in that case the church would still host the wedding but find a different minister to do it. In terms of other things to ask, it's worth checking if there will be musicians available, most churches will have an organist willing to play but there may be a fee for them. A parish church may also have a choir if you want them. if you aren't regular church goers you might also want to ask for suggestions about appropriate hymns and readings (you'll need a couple of hymns and one or two readings).

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'm sure they will be ok but when my auntie wanted to wed there 10 yrs ago they said no as she was divorced yet they have ok'd us not as the Rev at the time was re married and we don't match any of the 3 reasons why they don't. They have an organist which we will need to book but don't think we want choir as added cost although think it be nice detail. I know I need to ask about flowers as some say you have to use their florist but i don't know :/ x

The vicar should be able to point you in the right direction of the person/people who organise the church flowers. At ours they do 2 displays each week but we can pay a bit more for any extras or specific flowers. They often will do the displays in the colours of your wedding if they can but you don't necessarily have to use them for pew ends etc and could provide your own or get your florist to do them.
I would check your vicar is happy to marry you if your partner is divorced just to put your mind at ease. Although if they've taken a deposit I'm not sure they can go back on that and they should provide another vicar if he is uncomfortable with it.
Do you want the bells rung? This may be an extra cost though but again the vicar can tell you who to speak to about that.
Perhaps go with a few hymns or readinga in mind (one must be from the bible - Corinthians is most popular) and see what he thinks of them. He could always offer other suggestions if you are not sure. X

So we went today and when we got there I realised it wasn't today it was next week! Luckily he was during a service at another church so we popped along to that and he was a lovely guy and very child friendly which is good as we have approx 15 kids at the day! Just wZiting on the paperwork to be re sent across now so can sort the payments out. Sort of hoping she'll do it today x
