    Hi

I am ringing the registrar up tomorrow and really need some advice on the best time to get married? I definitely want it after 12.00 as I don't want everyone getting hammered! I was thinking about 2.00pm and we will then be serving champagne and canapes straight afterwards. The photos will then be taken and I have no idea how long this will take? We will then take a short drive (5-10mins) to our wedding breakfast. I've been told that you should allow about 2 hours for speeches and meal. I will be hiring a caricature artist, buckin bronko and bouncy castle so people won't be bored. Please help!

I can only speak personally and as the venue is allowing us to have the room from 11am till 5pm and it takes two hours for the ceremony and then the breakfast I am opting to get married as close to 11 as I can as it's a bloody expensive day so I want it to last as long as possible!!

But from what you've described 2pm sounds great as it would give people to have some lunch before arriving as we've been told that the photographer can take up to 2 hours (?) so your wedding breakfast would be around tea/ dinner time.

    :-)

We're getting married at 2pm too! :-) It was going to be 3, but after speaking to our wedding co-ordinator at our venue, she persuaded us to go for 2 as it will give us more time

    I went for 11am....

    Ceromony 11-11.45
    picttures 11.45 -12.45
    travel to venue 12.45-13.30
pictures & welcome reception on terrace 13.30-14.30
    meal 14.30 - 16.15
    majician/coffee (in lounge) 16.30-17.30

    7pm - evening fun begins

I wanted to make my day as full as possible and as we have 4 children we have allowed extra time for the photo's, plus ad we are having weddinghddvd, we have planned a few surprises throughout the day. It's a personal choice I guess.

We could only get the registrar for 12, we had hoped for later to cut down costs by not having to have an evening buffet and al. I'm starting to like the whole early ceremony idea though... more time and more fun :) I am slightly worried about the extra drinking time though... hope things won't get messy

We are 1.30. I think it gives you enough time to get ready in the morning without panicking your not going to be ready and without getting up mega early. But you also get a long enough day as it will go on to midnight x

see what times are available, as you cannot always get the time slot that you are looking for if you are after a particular date, see also if the venue is free for teh time you want :) x
