    favour boxes
    Post box
    Guest book
    Flowers if silk or foam
Ribbon to decorate bits and bobs
    table decs
Place cards (if you know roughly how many guests)

Don't get shoes, veils etc until you know which dress you are having as it could be a false buy otherwise.

If you're making your own StD's or invitations, you can get stuff for those and start making them. It took us 3 months to make the StD's! x

Yeah and Order of service is another one. You can make all the covers etc and then just print the inserts nearer the time when you know what you are having etc.

You can also pick out music, hymns, readings, poems etc too ready for when you have your meeting with the vicar or registry office.

Wow we only have about 15/16 months to go and we're starting to get everything.
The sooner its paid for the better in my opinion.

i am loving this post! just scribbled all of that down lol. it is easy to think of the obvious things for the wedding but in the madness that is wedding planning it is easy to forget the finer details! knowing me i would forget ribbon to decorate chairs with or something lol

A box to keep all of your stuff in one place as you dont't want to be searching around nearer the time, and also a planning book to write down what you've bought. I bought stuff a couple of weeks and nearly forgot I had!

A box is a great idea - that's what I need to get before I forget where I squirrelled everything away!

When we got engaged, I cut out a few of my extras, such as starbucks coffee and magazines and papers, so I put away £10.00 per week into my PO Account, which I havent really missed to be honest. I started in when we started to plan the wedding in Feb 2009 and will start to use it from this month to start getting the little things, I've got about 60 items added to my bay of e watch list! Anyway I've managed to save over £1000, plus aswell as that I've been buying little things as we go such as all the gifts have been bought for the bridal party, favours and buffet bags/glass jars, so I've got quite alot done already. Plus I've been selling stuff on bay of e and using that money purly for wedding bits. Was considering not telling h2b and planning a surprise honeymoon, but we'll see how we go I think. But yeah if I had a top tip, squirrel some away, I'm glad I did it!

Also with VAt increases prices go up all the time so if you see a bargain then it is worth getting as the longer you leave it the more they charge. I went to get married a few years ago and it cost so much less for everything back then. Just wish I had met the h2b then.
