    Hi all,

Strange one really, Ive created a website for our wedding and on one page I have the 'wedding party'. So I have a picture and funny/heartfelt description next to each one.
Apart from my OH's mum and her boyfriend. I just dont know what to say. I cant think of any personality traits that would be particularly funny, or anything that I could turn into an anecdote! Ive asked my h2b and he said he didnt know what to put either!!

Ive got to put something, or else they will be the only ones with nothing next to their picture- I just need some inspiration on how to say something nice about someone, that in all honesty I dont know that well- and her boyfriend who has to be part of the wedding party just because he is her partner!

    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Complete mental block- Danni xx

Oh wow, we have done our own website too.
With regards to what to put for each person im not sure. Ive only put something about my moh as he is my best mate and know him like back of my hand. im leaving it up to him to do his groomsmen and stuff.
i would say just put something nice if you cant think of anything funny.
something like "lovely person, mother of groom, always there for him" etc etc
idk, just making this up as i go along haha xxx

How about.... Without this woman I wouldn't be marrying the love of my life??
She gave birth to him so she made it possible??
That's all I can think of??
    :-)

I find it strange that your h2b can't come up with either a funny story or something poignant that happened when he was little that she did or something that happened to her that's uplifting or funny or warm.

Anyway.... Any chance you guys could dig just a little deeper and ask an uncle or aunt of his for a anecdote? You could always say a few words about the first time you met her if all else fails. You will come up with something I'm sure.

Hmm that is a toughy. we havent gone down the website route, but love to have a sneaky peek at all yours ladies :P
But i can imagine this would be a tough one with my lot to. theres always something funny and amusing i can write about my folks and that but not his lot.

All i can think of is start off like the others have suggested, without this woman I would not be able to say im marrying... or she went through hell and back in order for me to stand by his side. She was always there for him and I know he has learnt so much from her which he can bring into our lives and our family. Or stuff like that. you might find as you write itll come!

Sorry if that isnt much help xx

Thanks ladies, yes I like the bit about the 'without her I wouldnt be marrying the love of my life' and obviously she stood by him when he had cancer- but so did everyone else- Id rather it be slightly funny, and then ive gotta say something about her fella. i think he's a tool. lol but i cant write that!!
I think the reason h2b cant come up with anything, is because its really just a short snap shot (not even a paragraph), so cant even go into too much detail!
thanks for your ideas so far!!

    anything for the boyfriend??? lol.

Why can't he write a full paragraph? Surely you guys could allow yourselves to write a paragraph for each of your parents?

I'm not doing a wedding website as its added expense for me and most of my guests live within just a few miles of our venue and the ones who don't live nearby are coming over on the same flight as us and staying in a hotel for the weekend with us anyway so no need for directions etc. I have never seen a wedding website so I too would love to get the chance to check out some and if anyone wants to send me a link to theirs in a message that would be awesome :-)

One more thing do you definitely have to include your future mother in law's boyfriend on the website? I don't wish to be rude but he's not your h2b's dad and not even his step dad. If they were married or had lived together for years I would include him for sure but if not then would it be an issue if his picture is not up there? Just a thought.

Well the rest of the page is just a few sentences. Im sure it will come together.

Im only putting him on to make sure his mum isnt upset, they have lived together for 4 years, and his step mum (of 20 years) is on the website as we are very close to them. So i think it just evens out!

Ah ok :-) it makes sense :-)
For him how about a story about how your fmil met him? Or just simply say he is a lovely guy and is a good laugh and fun to be around? I would just make something like that up even if you can't stand him lol.

It looks really good :-) I did notice that your own parents aren't listed are they going? I don't mean to seem nosy but I thought that perhaps you had either run out of page space or forgot to include them or something.

You could put her as "the other woman in (H2B)'s life... She has set the standard incredibly high on sunday roasts, although (H2B) will never actually tell me to my face that his mums yorkshire puddings are still the best in the world, so I have a lot to live up to!"

As for her fella... perhaps it would be good to just make something totally random & untrue up... such as he has a special super power & recently discovered a new chemical element... has 3 nobel peace prizes... will be available for giving tango dance lessons to anyone interested in the run up to your wedding... knows the last digit of 'pi'... is secretly the inspiration for all of Jason Stathoms movies... perhaps it will make him laugh??

Amy has the right ideas! I would possibly even joke that they were the inspiration behind a famous movie like Dirty Dancing or something lol.
