Went bm shopping with MOH today. We'd picked a few D3ssy dresses to try on and narrowed it down to one at the shop. Problem is there's another I wanted her to try on that didn't have and neither does anyone else near me. I'm going to be ordering them from the US. Here's the one in the shop:

And the one I still wanted her to try:

My bm prefers the sweetheart neckline (we tried some on with that neckline but just didn't like other aspects of those).

What should I do? Take the plunge and order the second one or go with the one she tried on? Still need to see which my sister prefers to cos she lives 2 hours away.

Hmmm - personally I prefer the second one as well, but it is a risk with her not being able to try it on.

Did she try any similar one's on? I'd be tempted to buy the second one if it's what you both prefer, especially if your sister ends up preferring it as well.... but it's hard to say

I think I prefer the second one. I ordered my bm's dresses without them even knowing or trying any on in that style. They all loved them!

They are both very similar so if she liked the first one, the second one would, if anything, be more flattering as it has that bit more rucheing. I say do it :D x

I prefer the second one too. In fact, I think I might have to steal the style! Its perfect for what I am after :)

D3ssy are mega bucks though, right?

Laurak7, how much are the ones from Shewhocannotbenamed? Have you got any pictures of ones she has made? x

Yeah they're not cheap, even getting them from the US they're gonna cost about £310 when you add on postage and customs charges

Just make sure if you choose to go for she who cannot be named that you order a swatch first cos I was gonna order from her but when the swatch of the rose colour came it was nothing like the D3ssy colour

I do prefer the second dress but dresses on models and on the hanger look different on the person who is actually going to wear it. Remember what it was like trying wedding gowns on?

It's a risk to order and pay so much for a dress your bridesmaids haven't tried on.

That doesn't seem so bad then, although I agree with Indreamland. I didn't think dresses could be so different till I went W dress shopping. Nightmare...

So my bm went to try the other dress on today. She likes it but I don't think it's bridesmaidy enough, it's too much of an evening gown I think or is that the colour of this one making me think that?. What do you think?

I think it's the colour and the fact that she isnt standing next to a bride, that makes it look a bit like an evening dress. Or is it the slit on the side?

Yeah I'm not too sure about the slit.... but it all depends on what you and your bridesmaids are happy with.

I just don't think the 2nd one fits with the vintage country garden theme, it's a bit too twenties glamour

I think its the colour that does it. With the blue I personally don't think you can see the detail like the dusty pink one in the photo. Could you try some little gem stones on them? X
