hey girls, I am not 100% officially planning the hen but have been asked to get ideas on what we can do and where we can stay cheaply but nicely in York city center for a hen weekend end of july next year. Anyone who lives near by then please help us out to make sure that we have a weekend we will never forget. I have already been advised to go tp hatties tea shop, a ghost walk and one day go to the castel museum x

go to the dungeons that would be a great as a hen party, tell them how many are coming and they will take you round in a group on your own and make it memorable!!! erm............ stay at Hotel Noir thats just near the centre about a 15 min walk and resonable prices for the rooms as they are really nice and i bet they will give you a good price for a group booking.
just have a really good walk around there is a Yorks most haunted house one stonegate thats really amazing!!! scary as!!! most haunted have been there and ran out screaming not that it takes much lol!

I agree with Sonn to be Mrs Mann - the Dungeons!!! I went there with an ex of mine for our first anniversary and we had a great time. I think it would be great fund with a group of your best girlies too! I went to Uni in Leeds but only went to York this once and can't really remember a lot more about it - it's the one thing that stuck in my mind! Apart from it being a lovely place. I'd really like to go back there one day. Hx

for drinkies you have to go to The Evil Eye - its cocktail heaven! We're getting married in York because we love it so much, we don't live there and nor does any of our family but its our favourite place :o)

I am having my hen do in york. We are going with a company who does a package for two nights you get accpmodation, spa day and then a murder mystery dinner all for £130 quid
have a look at york boat, we did that for my hen do, you have a buffet bbq and a disco i think it was 7pm-11pm. great night. Sorry not sure where to recommend staying as i live in york so never stayed anywhere.

it does every cocktail you could possibly imagine - the list seems endless! its got a really cool atmosphere, its always packed because its so popular. Definitely worth a visit!

can I have the link too please Mandy :) I was recommended Mira Spa I think it was that do a special offer for hens, but it wasn't part of a hotel deal etc. That sounds such a good idea x

I live in York!! So recommend Evil Eye for the cocktails like Sara suggested, also Stonegate Yard is really good for cocktails - and isn't that far away too! The food in there is really good too. Dungeons would be good, not sure about the Castle museum, but I've only been there on school trips! It's Betty's tea-room, again it's not something I would massively recommend cos whilst it's quaint it's also very expensive for what you get. For a really nice meal I'd recommend Rustique, the food is beautiful and you can get 3 courses for £14!! for things to do in the day I'd just say to walk around the city, you've got to have a look at the Minster cos it's amazing! The Ghost tour sounds like a good idea too :-) Also there's loads of b&b's in York, the closest one to the city centre is called the Georgian House, think it's about £25 a night and is near a really good curry house! There's also some nice ones on St Mary's and down Bootham. For Spa days I really like Face Etc. I took one of my BM's there for her bday and had a great time - it's city centre as well.
