So, I ate some really garlicky food lastnight for dinner and woke up this morning and I'm sure I could detect a hint of garlic lingering on me, so I thought, mental note to self, do NOT eat garlic the night before the wedding. So I wondered, what else should we not eat the night before the wedding or the morning of the wedding before we hit the aisle to make our grand entrance just so we're not anti-social or have any embarrassing natural bodily functions moments ;)
So far I've thought of: Garlic Onions Fizzy drinks Baked beans Marmite (if H2B does not like it)
Any others? ;) xx

Egg isnt great itself :) Sprouts - although not sure i'd be eating sprouts the night before my wedding lol
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!
Or things that get stuck in your teeth, like sweetcorn (thats all i can think off but i'm sure there are more)...

Sweets/chocolate/excessive caffeine - you want to try and keep an even blood sugar level to avoid passing out during the ceremony!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
That would be sooooo embarrassing. Although if I'm lucky enough for it to be really hot that could make someone pass out.

Anything that would aggrevate my IBS - that's anything fibreous or with wheat in. Red wine can sometimes give me a hangover, so I'd avoid that too. I also wouldn't take cod liver oil tablets the night before as I'm so paranoid that they make my breath stinky LOL!
Vegas baby!

Anything bread based for breakfast, particularly if its freshly baked and warm (yummy!!), nothing will bloat you more!!x
CommentAuthorHollyB42
Oooh or too much Tea in the morning, knowing me I would need to excuse myself half way through the ceremony to have a wee!!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
lol - that's what I am really worried about, bursting for the bathroom right at the beginning or during the ceremony!

Oh my goodnes as i am reading this i am mentally crossing off all the things i cannot eat in the 18hrs before the wedding.I think i am down to a small green salad without dressing for my tea and yoghurt for breakfast with only water to drink but none after 10am in case i need to wee during the service lol !
CommentAuthorHollyB42
Haha that is probably a good plan! I cant see me getting through the morning without a glass of Champagne though! On a positive note I will probably be far too excited and nervous to eat anything the night before!x

I actually really wanted the night before to have an american style rehersal dinner with both families but looking at this it may be a bad idea!x
CommentAuthorPB
I think we are all going to be dehydrated and famished after the ceremony.Mind you i already know that first champagne in the car on the way to the reception is going to go straight to my head but if i now factor in that i will have hardly eaten or drunk anything there may be trouble lol! x

When I started this thread I was only thinking about anti-social food lol and now ..................I'm really getting worried about also needing the bathroom!
I have a dairy allergy anyway so no dairy products for me and I'm tee total so no chance of getting me sloshed ;)
I'm sure you can still have your rehersal dinner Holly, just have a plain salad ;)

I'm beginning to think a 24hr fast is the best solution .....................but then I could faint or have my tummy grumbling all the way through the ceremony!
Anyone else have any anti-social food or foods to avoid the night before or morning of the wedding?

You know what, forget it, I'm having a whole veggie supreme stuffed crust to myself the night before! XD
CommentAuthorAtaraxia
I didn't avoid anything either - I ate my usual cornflakes and milk for breakfast, cup of green tea and even had a few pieces of choccy while I was putting my makeup on!
Obviously don't eat anything you know will make you feel unwell or bloated or anything crazy like hot curry but eat whatever you feel like - by the night before it won't matter about your dress and you'll be too excited and nervous to start being picky :) just remember your husband will love you garlic or no and feeling faint won't make a radiant bride.
I ate spinach and ricotta at our meal and garlic bread too - what is a brand new husband for but to make sure your teeth stay free of bits!

This has really got me thinking now....
Normally i have scrambled egg & peanut butter on toast for breakfast & a cup of green tea but green tea goes straight through me.
Think i need to start planning what i am going to have!
CommentAuthorSelinaK
I'm worried now! I have IBS, its not so much the bloating but the need for number twos at the most ridiculous of times, I will be mortified if I need to poop during the day! I haven't even worked out the logistics for number ones yet, I am not the most graceful of people, and there is a hell of a lot of dress to contend with!!!!
CommentAuthorSelinaK
I am now having giggling fits, just text the BM asking her if tonight (dress fitting at home, practice hair, shoes etc) we can also practice peeing in the dress. Her reply was not printable lol!!!!!
CommentAuthorJonathanM14
Selina just charge one of the ushers with a bucket and spade and get them to follow you around.
CommentAuthorsuzky123
wow I was thinking this myself as we are going the pub the night before. Normally I would have the tikka masala with all the trimmings but worried about being bloated. Instead, I think I will just ask them for a steak and jkt potato as I dont want something too heavy as I am worried about bloating too. Think I will have a good look at their menu
