When you sign your marriage certificate??

We was thinking of having something Classical
but H2b suggested as he used to be in the caterin corp
and he just said let's have Amazing Grace
played by the Scottish Guard Bagpipes...

We have just got it from I tunes and dowloaded
it and it lasts for 25 mins.... So that's what we
are having as it send tingled down my spine!! :)

THANK GOD FOR THIS THREAD!!!! This is what I had totally forgotton about! Music for bridal entrance, signing reg, bride & groom exit at civil ceremonies...

What is everyone having for their entrance?

Was watching DTTB last night and they had a string quartet playing Oasis 'Whatever' which was actually really nice. We're not having a string quartet or anything like that so will have to use the ipod. Please can I have some ideas????

I'm hoping to have "All You Need is Love" for the processional and "It Must Be Love" as the recessional with my brother singing either "What a Wonderful World" or "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the signing of the register.

For the entrance to the civil we are having 'for the love of a princess' from Braveheart, 'Romeo and Juliet' instrumental for the signing of the register and we are walking out to 'Hoppipolla' instrumental.

For the blessing we are walking into Ave Maria, having Jerusalem, Sing hosanna and lord of the Dance and then amazing Grace. We will walk out to the traditional bridal exit tune and have the church bells ringing.

Am thinking of coming in to "This Day" by Emma's Imagination coz I love it but then I have second thoughts in case the lyrics are all a bit too "It's my day and no-one elses" LOL, but that's about as far as I've got with decisions on music for the ceremony! I was thinking of trying to sneak some Star Wars soundtrack music in for H2B if I can find something appropriate sounding - maybe for playing while the guests come in, or for signing of the register. Then I have no clue for recessional music yet!

If you want star wars try john williams duel of the fates on you tube. You can get a free you tube to mp3 converter to download it. It sounds like a nice piece of orchestra but fans will recognise it.

Awww some lovely music goin on here!

Bms are walking in to pachabels canon.
Dad and me are walking into the wedding march.
    We're opening with 'Amazing Grace.'
Signing the register my friend is an opera singer so he is singing 'ave maria'
Communion hymn is 'I watch the sunrise.'
After that my other friend is singing 'You raise me up'
    Final hymn is 'Sing Hosanna'
Then its the traditional Bridal exit music.
A lot of music but it should work as we're having the full catholic mass. xx

Lol Sijen that would be hilarious.

We've got a string quartet for the ceremony so I've asked them to play some of Handel's Water Music for the guests whilst they're seated waiting on me to arrive - i might just have to late to get my money's worth! I'm walking down to Pachelbel's Canon, signing the register to Vivaldi's Spring then leaving the ceremony to Arrival of the Queen of Sheba again by Handel. Our first dance is going to be Eva Cassidy's Songbird.

There are some fantastic song choices on here, our weddings are going to be fab :)

I still need to decide on our hymns for the ceremony though and just can't think of any! Any suggestions would be appreciated. xxx

I'm walking down the ailse to a Beatles song - it's one of two I haven't decided

either In my Life or Here there and everywhere (played on strings)

We are signing the register to the strings playing ave maria (Dave's choice)

I want them also to play this song called Maria Elena by Jim Reeves as it's my gran's song and she's very important to me.

Our first Dance is Dave's choice - I think he wants either stand by me or first time ever I saw your face but he does love Bon Jovi (although I don't really), the only one I'd really consider agreeing to is a duet with Leanne Rimes called til we aint strangers anymore as I love country music x

I was thinking of having Little old wine drinker as it was my Uncle's song but my nan's are just too sad - Eva Cassidy 'Somewhere over the rainbow' and Nat King Cole 'Smile' - My mum wouldn't be able to control herself!!

I was in the Trafford centre the other day and there was a string quartet playing music, and h2b LOVED it, so if we can afford it, we want them to play at our ceremony and i will walk in to 'Mr Brightside' by the killers (its h2b's and his friends' song), and if we get them I'm not bothered what else they play whilst we sign register.

We want out first dance to be an acoustic version of 'My Hero' by Foo Fighters.

We haven't decided everything yet, but the h2b and I decided to have "Abigail's Song" by Murray Gold and Katherine Jenkins for when I'm coming down the aisle. We were watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special (the latest one) last night and we both got teary when we listened to the lyrics of the song Abigail sings at the end of the episode. It's a really beautiful song.
Plus we're both huge Doctor Who geeks so this is quite appropriate here.

As for the rest of the registry... we're both Charmed geeks too, so I'm sure I can fit a nod to that music-wise.

I haven't got all mine sorted yet, but so far for the civil ceremony (string quartet):-
Pre-ceremony, Water music, Bach cello suites, whatever they like as long as it's not Pachelbel! (sorry to those who love that piece but I cannot stand it)
Walking in to La Rejouissance (music for the royal fireworks)
During the signing of the register we'll have One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story, Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon and possibly one more if needed.
    Not sure about exit music.

    For the blessing (organ music)
Guests arrive to either Vivaldi's Gloria or Handel's Zadok the Priest
We walk into the Prince of Denmark's theme
    Leaving to Mendelssohn's wedding march.
