I'm doing my own wedding make-up (I must be crazy) I dont wear any make-up at all, Not even if myself or h2b are going out somewhere nice.

Ive bought all my foundation and eyeshaddow etc etc...But stuck on what mascara to buy? Im after a waterproof one (Just incase i do cry) And one that wont smudge.. (Im not sure if this is even possible lol)

Any recomendations? I really have no where to begin!

    Thankyou in advance!x

Go into Boots and ask the ladies there to help... the No7 mascaras are normally good and the girls should know the best one for you xx

Mascara is one of those annoying products that work differently for everyone!
Do you prefer a dryer formula or a wetter one? Plastic brush or traditional brush? Volumising or lengthening?

Masterpiece max is amazing if you like dramtic, and they do a waterproof version. What about falsies or extensions? Or that new one that Danii Minogue was advertising that's meant to look like fake ones?
I tend to buy every new one advertised- I'm a sucker for advertising- and masterpiece max, Lancome Hypnose Drama and YSL faux cils are the best ones I've found. x

Lancome Hypnose, it's a bit pricey but worth every penny. Eyelashes look fantastic!
Since turning 30 i decided to spoil myself with good makeup and the best thing about paying that extra bit is that it lasts a lot longer! xx

I agree Hayley- expensive make up is so worth paying out for! Really does make all the difference.
Why don't you go into a department store Mrs Brown 2 B and get someone there to make you over and recommend a mascara? It's free, good fun, educational and you can do it just before a night out!! lol. x

Try to avoid all the gimmicky mascaras cos most of them dont do what the tv says they do. I have tried a few in my time and I find maybeline are really good at just over a fiver. Its enough to pay if your not really a makeup wearer. Oh and dont fall for the flashy packaging on the dearer ones cos thats where most of the money is spent and not on the product itself.

I may get extensions again- had them before and they look so good but seriously expensive! They glue one to each indiviual lash so they look natural but really thick and long, better than mascara but need topping up every few weeks/months and wreck your lashes when they come off. Think I paid £90 for first lot and £30 for each top up. But totally waterproof and there even first thing in the morning/in the swimming pool etc. Can't decide....

No7 have really lovely mascara - Use one with a plastic brush for definition. But definately ask around some makeup counters.

I use Max Factor Masterpiece Max all the time and have found it to be THE best mascara on the high street. I have tried YSL and Lancome before and found that they were no better than the Max Factor one xx

I am planning to have lash extensions too (they last up to 4 weeks without a top up).I have never had them before so cannot comment on how good they actually are but in theory they should look fantastic without me having to do anything to them and will not run/smudge or clump!
I am going for a trial next Monday so i will let you know how they work out. xxx

Now normally I just use miss sporty as It's cheap and does the job wonderfully, however I bought their waterproof and its rubbish.

I'm on the hunt for that clubbing mascara, gok wan reviewed it and it came out wonderful. Now just to remember what brand it was.

hey hun, google 'crybaby' mascara. its a semi permanent mascara and lasts for 3-6 weeks i think! (if i remember rightly it was about £35) saves you havingto apply your own when you dont usually wear it :-) xx

Yea it was that one. I know it failed the steam bit but I'm not surprised as you wouldn't normally subject it to that

Mascara is mascara to me I have lashes like a cow so they usually only need a quick coat to make them curled. Once its time to throw current one out I think I'll buy it. I did have an ace rimmel one but can't find it in my local boots.

Have a look into having your lashes tinted, that way even if you do cry all day you'll still have lovely lashes by the end of it all (even if the rest of your make-up completely gone!

When i got off the internet last night, i had a brain wave! Since you're not used to wearing mascara and want something special, have you thought of having your eyelashes tinted? I get mine done before i go on holiday. Being a natural ginge, i prefer not to let the red lashes flow... they practically glow when the sun shines on them. So i opt for a blue/black which is great, much better coverage than a mascara and no mess either!
A salon near me does a deal, eyebrow/eyelash tint and brow wax for £20. This could be something you could look into? xx

The one I had was in a black and blue tube, and the brush was sort of like a toothbrush but with rubber bristles.
