wow, £25k ! I am determined not to go above £5000. I am getting alot for free/cheap as my dad is a director of a well known bakery where I am getting my cake for free, my uncle is a hairdresser and my cousin a photographer, also I got my dream venue for £2013 as a 'deal' for a small period of time so I think that's where we are saving most :)

Yep I agree. The pricey things after the venue are cake, photographer and hair/make up for bride plus BM and MOB can fair add up! My granny has very kindly given us £1000 towards the wedding but I am still planning on that being included in my £5000 - not making it £6000! Lol x

Around £18k excluding honeymoon. Honeymoon will likely be anything from £4-7k depending where we go.

Way more than we originally planned to spend :-s And that's trying to keep costs down where possible eg doing DIY stationary, having few decorations, not having wedding cars or favours, etc.

We have set a maximum £15k budget, but so far coming in at less than £10k, way more than I thought I would ever spend, but I just keep telling myself I'm saving £5k lol!! X

Well our original budget was 1.5k. But we have increased that to 1 8 so far from saving our loose change and h2b wins on scratchcards and me putting a little extra away each month.

We have managed to keep to our budget of £9,000 so far but have a spare £1000 being given as a gift if we need it. Hopefully we wont need to spend anymore as we want some left over for after the wedding.

MrsEminson: it's so easy isn't it? We're only having like 50 day guests, so I'm kind of shocked by our total; but, we've been really fussy with things like photographers (will likely be spending a minimum of £2k, and potentially up to £3k *gulp!*), and we don't know anyone who can do the cake for us, etc :-( But, it's our dream wedding and we wouldn't change a thing :-)

barbie we are only having 45 to 50 guests too.... isnt that weird. Having 80 in the evening (though may end up with only 70 ish depending on rsvps.... could have up to 94 but highly doubt we will get above the 70's). Thank god otherwise we couldnt have afforded all the add ons. Good job hubby to be has a small family so we havent missed anyone out.

Oh my!! Our budget is 5,000 at the moment but if I can get everything together at less than that I will be a happy bunny. I totally envy those of you with 25k to spend, I'm sure though that bride of all budgets will feel like princesses on their day.... it's taken 10 years for me to get to this stage so even if we had 500 I'm sure we'd work something out lol xx

25k sounds like a huge amount of money, but it's so easy spent on a wedding. I'm having to do without because we don't have the funds, but if we had the money, I'd spend that much!! we'll still have a great day and I'm so happy with all the bargains I've managed to find, but I don't like scrimping on anything lol

Our budget is 6k i think we are on track for that but have to say we would never have been able to do it without 'Groupon' yes that's right you heard me 'groupon' We got the most beautiful venue Lympne Castle in Kent the second we set foot in it we both loved it and the best bit was the price £2450 for venue and 60 people for drinks reception and a 3 course sit down meal. The venue alone should have been £2500 without the meal. We ended up with a saving of £4610. We wasn't planning on getting married until next summer but this deal came up and we couldn't resist, so brought the wedding forward to this October x
