Only 35 days until we get married and we have the last little things to sort out - one of them being gifts for the wedding party.

Who do we buy for? is it the norm to buy for all bridesmaids, ushers, best man, and fathers of bride and groom? What do you get them?

    Help :-)

Bridesmaids all have matching bracelets. MOB and MOG both have flowers. Dead stuck on best man and ushers. Can't afford much, so am thinking a nice bottle of wine for them each. I figure I'd rather get an expensive version of a cheap gift, than a cheap version of an expensive gift.

We've got my BMs necklace and earring set. Plus, im putting together a little 'package' to include personalised robe for getting ready on the day. Not sure what else yet lol!

Mum's will get flowers. My dad will probably get a train experience day as he's into all that - not a big drinker or anything.

Best man we're thinking a personalised snooker que as its his 'hobby'. He also likes drinking but probably wont ever use a hip flask and personalised drink bottles seems abit pointless lol.

We dont have ushers, thank god, as its so hard buying for guys!

Do any of them have a hobby you could incorporate into the gift?

No idea what to get our ushers, fiancé suggested watches but without sounding horrible I don't like the idea, we don't want to spend that much on them and I don't want to get them a cheap watch.
Bridesmaids will have some sort of jewellery and possibly flowers. Mothers flowers and maybe something else, his dad and my brother (brothers giving me away) again I have no idea :/

It would be nice if everyone had something they could remember the day by, I was thinking maybe engraved glasses for the ushers but oh kept going on about the watches

I gave gifts (jewellery) to the bridemaids, MOH & MOB beforehand when we were getting ready. Best man got his during the Groom's speech, and also MOG & MOB got flower's during the groom's speech. We didn't have ushers, nor did we get gifts for the fathers as too complicated.

It seems to be the norm to buy gifts, but do what YOU want to do. It's your wedding day, and don't feel you have to do something because that's what everyone else does. We aren't buying any gifts. We are spending alot of money on the wedding, and providing food/entertainment for everyone and don't feel buying gifts on top of all this is necessary

Everybody seems to be tuck on fathers, my stepsister got the dads an engraved tankard and the mothers a bunch of flowers. I think you could go for something like personalised glasses, hip flasks kinda thing too along a similar line. A bit unsure of those who may not be big drinkers though I'm afraid x

I was saying to H2B about gifts, I said were getting the bridesmaids their dress, shoes, hair, jewellery & possibly make up too so I wont be getting them an extra gift to give during speeches. He was like "you cant do that, you've got to get them something or they'll feel left out"!!!
He wants to sort out his best man & ushers gifts, so that could be any random item.
Mum, MIL & Nan will get flowers.
I will have to think of something to get my dad, stepmum & uncle as they are doing our food, my dad is also doing my cake.

Saying that I don't really understand the point of giving gifts!! To me its just an extra expense & will probably end up costing us at least £500. OH also wants to treat the wedding party to a meal after the church wedding rehearsel, I'm sure he has no clue how much this is all going to cost, even though I've told him a million times.

Keira, you could always give them a piece of jewellery for them to wear in the big day as a bridesmaid 'gift', therefore killing two birds with one stone, if you were paying for the jewellery anyway.

We got personalised compact mirrors for our bms, a personalised trinket box for our moh, personalised whiskey flask for best man and jewellery boxes for the mother of the bride and mother of the groom - spending about £15 each, £25 for the hip flask. We didn't want to go the flowers route as it's a lot of money for something that will be dead within a week.

We've done gifts for bm, mums, fathers and best man. Bridesmaids are having: chocolate, mini prosecco, perfume, personalised mirrors and their jewellery. Mums are having flowers - and I've sewn a poem for my mum, fathers are having personalised pint glasses -and I've sewn a poem for my dad. Best man has a collectors zippo lighter x
