I want to buy h2b a new camera for crimbo but it has to be a good one as we will be giving this to mums etc to take extra shots our photographer may miss on the day, and will be using it predominantly for the honeymoon. Ideally it needs to record short clips too and these need to be of a good quality. The camera must be compact as we will have it on us all the time on honeymoon. Any idea which are the better cameras at the mo? I can go up to £200. Thanks

we have just brought a fujifilm s2950. it is a bridge camera, which i between a compact and a dslr. is has a 18x optical zoom which is great. think we paid £145 for it. it looks like a dslr but not as big i would highly recommend it.

it very much depends what you wanr from it .... your best bet is to go to a camera shop and ask for help from them
Lumix cameras are great - mine takes amazing photos, has a great zoom and is really easy to use
There are so many people out there who will tell you
what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

sami it defo takes a good pic but looks quite large. I saw an ad for Lumix the other day and they looked good to. Normally he does this type of thing but since its his pressy i have to and i dont want him knowing about it. Just scared of getting a dud!

it really isn't that big, but obviously bigger than a standard compact camera, we have just brought my daughter this one which is quite good.

Sami when that camera takes the picture does it look professional? As I want one x

I have exactly the same dilemma! I actually have a Lumix but I think I got a dud as our engagement pics look like we have all been tangoed! ha ha and it is very tempremental. I love the idea of a bridge camera but am concerned about the size too and lots of people recommend cannon Ixus. I keep reading all the review sites and driving myself nuts...so when you decide tell me! ha ha

yeah my hubby uses photo shop 4 to crop etc, but pics are really good, my son has been using it to take light trails, he is autistic and loves the camera my hubby teaching him about all the settings etc i would definitely recommend it and for £145 its brill. it has a timed shutter function which is used to get these pics.

this camera is nice and light, it is 8cm tall with flash down, 11cm across left to right and 9cm back to front with zoom in, and 11cm back to front with zoom out as far as it goes

Depends on the budget but as some have said Lumix are great, my other half is a photographer and he always recommends them as compacts for people :)
