Its a box to put your cards in for safe keeping basically.
It can be whatever you like, it could look like a proper postbox or just a box decorated or like me it could be a birdcage

For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.

    Ours looked like this:

I bought the box and the sign separately off the bay of 2 (around £5 each) and just stuck them together! I am so glad we had one as one card got left on the table next to the box and a drink was spilt on it, red wine I think, but the cards inside the box were protected. From spillages and anything else! The second one was to put the answers to our quiz in.

It is also possible to hire royal mail post boxes. Like Hails said, some have birdcages, or even wishing wells!

Have a look on the bay of E, there are loads of different styles, you can even buy plain ones for about £4 and decorate it yourself.

We're making ours by hand (well, one of the bridesmaids will be asked to make it) because ours is going to be the TARDIS from Doctor Who. If you want one that is more normal then you can buy them with the appropriate colours on to tie in with your theme.
